    TLDR...

OP.. Are.... Are you seriously complaining about we got new skills and the skill ceiling of the jobs is higher now? I mean... Really?... It's truly impossible to make everyone happy after all, didn't expect to see anyone complaining about we have more lovely skills.

I would really want to define you just by that, but won't be polited, so I'll just reserve it.

PS: Nice job with the new skills SE! So far, the ones I know, and well, the ones I'm controlling already with my WHM are awesome, and good to know when to time them... Asylum is awesome area-regen, passive healing is love, because if you're passive healing someone you can DPS meanwhile. Stone III is justice, now I don't need to use aero. Aero III is so awesome that it's worth it even for one target!... Assize is perfect skill to know when to time and how to use, restores a bit my MP, so it's a must-use in raids, whether to use in cleric or without cleric stance depends of situations!... ( Moon gana and the other sprites in Ravana EX appear? OH YES!... Assize with cleric stance is coming dudes!) Tetragrammaton is a perfect safe, also, I love to use it just after placing a regen, since regen by itself doesn't heal at the exact moment and tanks are risking to die while I place regen again.

Suggestion: If you're a gamepad user, you should make already four crossbars for Heavensward.... I have primary crossbar. secondary crossbar (changes just by pressng l2), PvP crossbar (Has pvp abilities and some macros, change to it with l2 + square ), third crossbar (Has some of the new CD skills, pets summoning, protect, and, in definition, those skills I use the less but still need a slot, l2 + x )

I'm a gamepad user and I've put all my cooldowns and some less-used stuff on the LT+RT bar and I have two vertical hotbars with BFB, LS, IR, PS, BotD and BL sitting next to the crossbar to more easily track the cooldowns. All my main rotation stuff fits on the main hotbar - one cross for TTT4, one cross for IDC4, one cross for jumps + Geirskogul and on cross for HT, Sweep and Phlebotomize. One slot is empty, dunno what to do with it. Works quite well after a bit of practice.

It's not hard, you just have no practice/don't pick things up as quickly as others.

It's been a couple of days. Some learn faster than others, others take while longer.

Get to 60, agree a system, and practice. Then you'll be ready.

I have a Naga and a G13 giving me a total of 24 keybound abilities without additional modifiers and that was only just sufficient at 50. I have no issue with using the number of abilities, it just seems as if abilities have been added for the sake of adding them. In my opinion, 24 is a reasonable number based on a person being comfortably able to reach to about 6 on the keyboard, adding in a couple of close by keys (Q,E,R,T,F,G etc.) and using two modifiers (Shift and Ctrl). For controller users, (I've not tried controller for the keybind reason) there are 24 easily accesible binds I think - L1, L2, R1, R2 + dpad/buttons? Is there an extra one without modifiers giving 32?

I feel like I'm gonna need a few extra fingers. Or eyes on them to always look at what key I'm pressing without looking away from my screen.

I'm still confused on how people got along in other games where there's at least 50% more abilities in those games yet when they come here they can't bind 30 abilities >_> Controller or not, there's plenty of different options to customize your bars and bindings. Anything that you don't use regularly in a fight should be on a separate hotbar that you can cycle through outside of combat, that saves a majority of people hotbar and keybinding real estate almost immediately. If the fight isn't an aoe/cleave fight, your aoe abilities (that aren't apart of a rotation or used for utility) don't even really need to be on your hotbars or at least can be relocated temporarily. Major cooldowns that are only used once or twice a fight don't need be readily accessible unless it's of the utmost importance to have it go off at the perfect time (Hallowed Ground, Holmgang, etc.). Extremely situational abilities can be unbound or relocated temporarily as well if it doesn't apply to that given fight.

TLDR: Be smart. You don't have to stick with a single setup forever. Learn how to manage your keybindings and alter them when the situation calls for it. People would call the game stale if no new abilities were added, yet when there are, people complain that there are too many abilities. We've only had access for 10 days. It takes what? 2-3 weeks to build a new habit or so they say. Keep tweaking your keybinds and perfecting your rotation. It'll all be ingrained in your brain soon enough.

I'm not complaining about new skills, I'm complaining about how they were implemented. Nothing else was changed or consolidated, and the new skills for dragoon become core to the rotation and and have complex interactions (the 50/50 proc chance for wheeling thrust vs. fang and claw etc.)

I can handle the new abilities, my frustration is with how much time it will take. I redid my keybinds and spent hours sitting in front a target dummy practicing the new rotations. I have it nearly down pact now, but after I realized I had spent about 2 hours working in the new abilities - NOT PLAYING THE GAME - I realized I wasn't having fun. And when I wasn't having fun I logged off and started playing something else. And then I decided I'd tell SE about my experience.

Having a high complexity and skill ceiling just for the sake of having things to press does not mean it's good design, and I don't think the new abilities add to the dragoon class.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I think they did Warrior perfectly - the rotations aren't complex but you change what rotations you use based on the situation ie. defiance on or off, so your role is still engaging and can change (turn defiance off when not tanking but when adds pop up that you need to grab you turn it on and the skills you're using changes). That's good design. 50 abilities to use? Sure, as long as you don't need to use more than 30 in a certain situation. Dragoon uses nearly all abilities in all situations. That's ability bloat and bad design, and if I have to spend an entire night of playtime practicing a rotation when all they added was 5 new abilities...shouldn't that say something?

Try Guild Wars 2. You never have more than 10 abilities and you use 3 of them 90% of the time... sounds more like your kind of game.

I like the additional abilities. I have not been fond of the recent trend in MMO's towards extremely limited skill sets.

Unfortunately my main is a bard and the members of my guild that are max level now are telling me that the new bard abilities are kind of a mess. I should rephrase to say that I like WELL THOUGHT OUT new abilities. Have a bunch of useless, never used abilities is as bad as having too few.
