you 'lost all interests' because you had too much to press? am i suppose to take you seriously?

    I have alt, ctrl, shift for F1 - 4, 1 - 4, ~, 0, -, =, q, w, e, r, a, s, d, z, x, c (some not because of default functions) and I have way more than enough keys plus they are all easy and accessible....

Another reason why MMOs don't belong on console. No offence to anyone. Though, can't this game be played using a keyboard on PS4?

Does the development team realize that the more they build up the rotations on the already complicated DPS roles, the higher the barrier is for dedicated damage dealers coming back to the game? It's the same for just about all the jobs, but damage dealers have it the worst as this game has the infamous enrage timer mechanic at end game, punishing poor rotation optimization with an iron fist.

Really, the jobs as is have enough abilities at level 50. They don't need anything else that has to be forced into a rotation unless the idea is to change the best rotation for the job like they do all the time in World of Warcraft. This is especially the case when we can take abilities from other jobs and use them in the central one.

Macros and dragoons are a bad idea. Gcd's are to wonky and to many ogcd's mixed into the rotation.

Eh, I just use an MMO mouse and have a standard keyboard. The gamepads are better for things like Space Sims where you got a joystick or for games where you don't need a full keyboard to communicate.

G13 is perfect for MMO's tbh u can set it up to route most of your abilitys to just your left hand and use a mouse for your right.

I use a G19 keyboard and Razer Naga. Could never get the hang of the G13 or Nostromos

I don't care if you take me seriously at all. But Square Enix should take me seriously. As I mentioned before (kinda), I think Dragoon was right about perfect and maxed out in it's complexity at 50 during ARR. It was a hard role to do well and that's actually some of what drew me to the class. Managing Heavy Thrust buffs with Chaos Thrust and Full Thrust combos and making sure that Phlebotomize DoTs were always up and then using power surge, life surge, blood for blood, and other longer CD buffs when they were up... it was a lot to deal with, but I had just barely filled up all keybinds that were comfortable to reach, but JUST enough room for the PvP abilities as well.

Then Heavensward comes along and does nothing but dump not only new abilities into the mix, but they make a new core mechanic with the abilities which includes a 50% proc of "use X ability or use Y ability depending on the proc with different positionals attached". I have taken PvP stuff off my bars completely to make the new abilities work and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that when ever I want to start doing PvP again.

Either way, I wrote this up because I completely rehauled my keybinds, struggled to figure out where to place certain abilities, and then spent HOURS sitting in front a target dummy practicing my 20+ move boss opening that isn't even complete since I haven't dinged 60 yet. I got fed up and logged off, played another game, and then started this thread to make SE aware of my frustrations. This is me telling them what I think about their ability design for Heavenward (at least for dragoon). So again, I'm not asking from any reaction out of you what so ever.

An MMO gaming mouse like a razor naga keeps basic rotation from interfering with your movement, but because of all the additional abilities, there is no way that you can completely avoid using the left hand for other activated abilities (alt, cntrl, and shift). Over long sessions, holding these keys down can be tiring due to the overuse of the pinky finger. Keypads can help shift the burden to fingers with more endurance. The only possible disadvantage to a keypad is if you are using the keyboard for communication and have limited desk space, since you'll have to switch back to the keyboard anytime you need to tell the party something. Desk space is something people rarely mention as a requirement with these peripherals, but remember that the keypad has to go somewhere, whereas a gaming mouse simply takes the place of your regular one.
