    Don't use them then.

I think everyone's been content with
the same ol' rotations for 2 years now and new stuff becomes overwhelming.
Give it time and you'll get back into the groove.

Edit: Should also try to manage your keys better too. Somethings you BARELY use should
be removed. Idk how controller people do it then....Set macro's if you can.

    That's exactly right.

Most of the complaints about more buttons to push will boil down to CHANGE IS SCARY!

You've had these for a week, tops. Give it some time and maybe, just maybe, you'll get used to the new stuff.

I get Battle Litany, Blood of the Dragon, and Fang and Claw.

It doesn't take me long to figure out the Blood of the Dragon and Fang and Claw are going to be heavy additions to my rotation. My keybinds were already full, but I had to add these new abilities to somewhere easily accessible. I go to the DPS forums to see what my other new abilities are going to be and see where they are going to fit as well since I have to rehaul everything. Even without all the rest of my abilities (and I still have more cross class buffs to get from pugilist that I've been too lazy to level) I'm completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of crap there is manage. If I'm starting a boss fight and I want to use my wombo combo for maximum DPS, here is what I lay down in keybinds (shift + key is (S:<Letter>) and control + key is (C:<Letter>))

(this is just for level 56 without my 58 or 60 moves and is missing internal release from pugilist!)
    R-(S:4)-E-(C:G)-(S:E)-3-(S:Q)-(C:E)-C-(S:G)-(C:R)-2-F-(S:2)-(S:F)-G-(C:F)-(C:2)-C

Add in positionals and encounter mechanics to that complexity. For any interested, that's:

Heavy thrust, battle litany, impulse drive, blood for blood, disembowl, blood of the dragon, leg sweep, chaos thrust, fang and claw, power surge, phlebotomize, Jump, True Thrust, Spineshatter dive, Vorpal Thrust, Life Surge, Full Thrust, Dragonfire Dive, Fang and Claw

From there I restart with Heavy Thrust and probably either back in the full thrust combo or reset my DoTs with a chaos thrust combo, and then it's just watching my buffs to use whenever they come off cooldown and using more of a priority system than a rotation.

And that's just a single wombo combo I would use for something like at the start of a boss fight. That doesn't take into account: When I need to lose enmity or position with Elusive Jump, use a limit break, still clicking on invigorate/blood bath, slowing mobs with feint etc. etc.

Oh, and on top of that for trash pulls you fit in AoE's into that equation.

Oh, and don't forget that when things calm down and I can hit some PvP again I have to fit in a slew of PvP abilities...

What. A terrible. Mess. That's way too much to keep track of. I truly felt like at 50 that my rotations and complexity were maxed, and I was absolutely right. Add in a couple of abilities and it just feels downright overwhelming. I don't even have all the abilities I need to use yet and I have 28 key binds and 4 moves to click on.

I've been sitting at a target dummy for the last 2 hours of game time practicing my new rotations and getting used to my new keybinds and it's enough to make me log off and play other games with how many sheer abilities I have to use. And I still have wheeling thrust (which, from reading, is going to be a 50% chance to proc to be used instead of Fang and Claw I think?) and a new off GCD ability to fit in when I eventually hit 60.

Square...I can't even...can you tone this down please?
This just makes me want to go out and level a drg. Me personally, the more buttons to press the better. Ability bloat has never bothered me as it keeps me engaged. Games like WS/GW etc... where there's only like 4-8 abilities to rotate through bore the crap out of me.

Some bards will argue about to so called changes and how it hurts things that make a class fun .

Truth is, we should be wanting a less tedious combat, and heavily focus on play style and fun. We want more people willing to raid tougher content. That is hard to pull in new blood, when class skill bloat, and tedious elements built into the classes. It is a lose/lose for all. For each person who says. "Get gud" or something like that. It shows how very little some people understand the elements of mmos and how much we depend on each other.

Classes should be fun, it should be rewarding to get better at them. I question if having tons of skills add to fun or needing to be good, as a question of how tedious it is.

I've started with a mouse & keyboard , but as a pugilist / monk the controller fitted best , at first i was struggling a little but in the end i think it was the better choice, i can move much better and bring up the char to it's true potential in a easier way, some abilities i barely use as lb i put the in a side bar and use the mouse to use it lol with a click or use them from a secondary bar that is easy to change with the combination : RB + (one of four buttons or one direction on d-pad), giving you eight bars easily accessible , change target in m&k is better tough IMO.

    Give it a try

I think this is fundamentally a DPS problem. A DPS class is solving a problem when they look at abilities(How do I press these in the right order to get the maximum damage), while the tank(When can I use this to gain threat and survive better) and healer(When would I use this to recover, prevent, or deal some damage depending on what's going on) classes are seeing tools to address problems that come up. There's some reworking with the other classes, but it's a unique DPS problem to look at new buttons as challenges that need to be overcome.

No problem here as Summoner or Scholar lol - all the new abilities are sorely needed BADLY for those two classes.

Not entirely true. Paladin picked up skills that have more than a few people struggling to figure out when to use them. I've seen people complain that Goring Blade and Royal Authority don't generate enmity! The entire point was to give Paladin some DPS options when they're off tanking (you know, like Warrior has had since forever) and yet it just seems to be confusing to some players. Meanwhile, those of us that have been lamenting the fact that we generate so much enmity as an OT see the skills as just what we needed. I don't always want to have the mob staring at me, okay? xD

Hell, I've seen people complaining about Sheltron and Clemency too, both of which I think are pretty nice. o.O

If I did not know any better, after reading the forums. I would swear that the famous community that pride itself in understanding would have went downhill. but nah, I think it is just a forum thing.
