Oh! Well then yeah...sure, why not?Dread I think you misunderstood. What I meant is that in the hypothetical quest.. you could choose to stay a kid, but you wouldn't be able to change back to an adult until a year passed. Basically it adds weight to the decision you make rather than just fantasia'ing whenever you fancy. Nothing gets locked you're still the WoL, just tinier. My apologies for misunderstanding. That would be interesting. I'd be curious to see who would take accept the long-term change.
It's hardly adding anything new to the table. It's just a human child with cat ears, which... no. I'm all for adding variety in this game (I have plenty of posts on this subject), but variety that gives us a race that looks completely different to what we already have as a playable race (I'll say it again; the Vanu Vanu would be neat as a playable race).
This game is already overdosing on the cute crap (especially for females). I think it's time for something different or no new race at all.
And weaker. Unless your child like form keeps the muscles they've developed as they grew into an adult, the Warrior of Light is going to be heavily burdened by this "debuff," making them very easy to assassinate with or without the Blessing of Light. I am hoping SE leave the "child forms" in Halloween events, where it's just a costume. Not a gameplay option.

While I would also like to see something more bestial as a playable race, seriously, you're NEVER going to get a beast race to be a player character race. First for lore reasons, second for the sheer amount of armor remodeling that would have to be done (one of the most obvious reasons why every playable race is largely based off the human template), and finally, because it'd be a huge risk that, from what I can tell, is something they are just not willing to attempt (or else the Au Ra would have been designed with less obvious pandering). It's hardly adding anything new to the table. All that being said, what seems much more likely to me is that the next race will, in fact, be another cute race like that cute bunny race they showed in the Heavensward concept art. And the reason for this is obvious: It's marketable. Easily marketable. And for SE, so far as I can tell, that is very, very high on their list of priorities when it comes to PC races.
Muscles mean nothing in this game. Or are you forgetting that dainty little Au Ra and Lalafell ladies are able to keep up with burly Highlanders and Roegadyn in melee combat? And weaker. SE did say that based on their stats, players prefer this type of thing. Sad thing is, I do see the next race to be another cute and might be even more anime-inspired than the Au Ra are. Unless they do decide to go the Viera route.
Hopefully, if they choose to do something like this then I hope that the males will at least look like adults/ "fierce"
Then by lore reasons (while they are short, Au Ra females and Lalafell are still adults!), children can't be a playable option
But seriously though, we have enough cute things in this game. Any more and we might as well redub this game as "Typical Anime Fantasy" or something along those lines >_>

Personally I would have preferred the cute Viera option from the concept arts. You can tell they're both girl and boy but they don't make the male hyper masculineSE did say that based on their stats, players prefer this type of thing. This whole thread just amuses me so greatly.
I wonder if any of you people objecting will be playing Blade & Soul, and if so, if you'd be just as obnoxious about this stuff as you are here. I certainly look forward to all the disgusted outbursts when some blowhards see a Lyn in a bikini. "YOU DISGUSTING PEDO" etc., disregarding that the player is just some lady who likes to play cute things and sometimes puts one in a bikini because she thinks they're cute in one. That'll be a riot!
Or maybe you guys will pass up on the game entirely because of the inclusion of the Lyn, which would be hilarious to me because, seriously, it's an excellent game and it'd be just as much the same as passing up on FFXIV entirely because Lalafell are a thing (and I'm sure there are some people who state this as a reason, but I'll laugh at them as much as I'll laugh at people objecting to the Lyn). Depriving yourself of an experience you would greatly enjoy because of some insane moral obsession towards those who enjoy a single benign element is just the height of absurdity.
I'll keep playing characters like this no matter how 'gross' you think it is or how much you're certain I'm 'encouraging pedophilia' by 'welcoming their presence' (lol). And companies are going to continue to create races catering to people like me because we exist, and we're of a surprisingly large number, and you can't stop the tide. Have fun fighting your losing battle. I'm sure that'll get you places.
I won't be playing Blade and Soul personally, but even if some of us did, the characters in B&S are all depicted as adults. There's no children and no race that is designed to look like a child either, AFAIK. So sexualization is acceptable, even if somewhat taboo in certain crowds.
That is the biggest mountain, nay, galaxy of BS I have ever seen spewed from someone's mouth (or in this case, fingers).
Suffice it to say, you could not possible be more wrong. Do you want me to name the countries with strict gun control laws that have a lower crime rate than America? All of them.
Huh what.
Even though I mentioned Lyn multiple times, you still missed it? Didn't even bother looking them up?
These are Lyn:
You can't expect me to believe the same folks who are complaining about the idea of playable children in FFXIV wouldn't be complaining about the Lyn.
