To be fair, that's not really a good argument, since Elin "aren't children, they're 100+ years old" in TERA, but are obviously designed to look like human-like children (and marketed to "that" group of people).

Lalafells are not children. They are in fact some of the raunchiest NPCs in the word. Go talk to the fishing starter NPC. Lalafell and he says "Fishing is like philandering, you never know what you are going to catch."
Quest for weaver I believe, you are sent around to ask people what the current color fashion is. A Lalafell replies "I don't care what the color is, as long as it's on my bedroom floor at the end of the night."
