The base issue with your entire argument is the assumption that the race would be sexualized on anywhere near the level of Elin. The Elin are so blatantly and hilariously sexualized that it's pretty much impossible for SE to get anywhere near that with the current glamour options in-game.

Pretty much the entirety of the Elin wardrobe consists of clothing designed specifically to maximize panty shots, in addition to them having those enormous hips and thighs (seriously, what's up with that?). Not only that, TERA is chock-full of tons and tons and tons of sexualized clothing and armor designs for the females of all the races, which itself invites a certain level of "creep-factor" in the player base. FFXIV does not have this issue. The absolute worst outfits are the Dzemael Darkhold outfits (the galerus set and the taffeta set, as mentioned), and those are actually surprisingly tame compared to some Elin outfits (some of which even have butt-riding thongs *shudder*). The grand majority of armor and clothing is practical or at least wearable compared to the crap you get in TERA.

Also, yes, I am not really talking about or encouraging the OP's use of "loliqo'te" or their desire specifically for younger versions of existing races. All I care about is a certain aesthetic, and I don't care how they get there.



Now, let's get back to one thing you're doing that is moronic: pedophilia is impossible to encourage. People are either born with the condition or not, and literally everyone with a functioning conscience knows it's bad. I mean, it's only beaten into your head about a million times from the time you're born. Adding a cute race doesn't somehow magically encourage people to become pedophiles or for pedophiles to become child molesters or for pedophiles to start evangelizing the wonders of the childlike figure to the world. Either you're born with the condition or not. Either you're born with the psychopathy gene or not. Either you're born with strong impulse-control or not. For the most part, anyone who does these idiotic things is not going to be influenced by media whatsoever, and there is zero evidence that media can make those traits worse (if anything, with Japan having such insanely low crime rates, it's just the opposite).

I get that child-molestation is a terrible crime and has terrible consequences for the child, and obviously you don't want to encourage that. Letting people play as children, or child-like cute races for that matter, hardly does anything resembling that. Again, the nature of that affliction is one such that you can't really "encourage" people who have it simply because it has such an insanely strong social stigma attached to it such that no one will ever want to be called one, let alone engage in behavior that 'outs' them publicly. The only ones you have to worry about are the ones with a combination of a. strong libido, b. no-to-few healthy outlets for said libido, c. ready access to children (relatives being a big one here), and d. weak impulse control, with e. low empathy being an exacerbating factor. Odds are very high you will NEVER meet someone with all these factors at once on the Internet playing an MMORPG like Final Fantasy XIV, mostly because they have access to the internet and thus factor b is a non-issue (and yes, I'm serious here - check crime rates from the time the Internet became a thing if you don't believe me).

So for the most part, all you really have to worry about are creeps. Not pedophiles being somehow 'encouraged' by the inclusion of a cute race that has appeal well beyond pedophiles themselves, just weirdos who love to get a rise out of you (and likely already play Lalafell anyway specifically for that reason).

Meanwhile, the rest of us just want to play something cute that isn't a potato. Done and done.

They won't get to TERA levels of bad, but you can be sure that people will try. Slap on the Immortal Flames' Loincloth (Huzzah for Raubahns weird tastes in micro-mini?) and the bikini top, and that's a pretty revealing outfit.

So what is SE to do of the short skirts already in game? Or the bikini bottoms, or the loincloth, or the fishnet stockings, or the thravanian (Spell check?) set, or the leather harness/subligars, or the awkward and unneeded belly window on the DRG AF, or the weird boob window in the NIN AF? Sure most gear is practical, but that doesn't stop those who want to wear sexualized outfits from just glamouring on the bikini tops to tank DPS, or heal in them, and there's no way to stop that outside of limiting glamour for "Children" PCs further, which I can assure you will result in either no one touching them or thread upon thread begging SE to allow them to have the loincloth and whatever.

Fine, child options wouldn't be that bad, the issue is finessing all of it around to pedophiles don't feel like they now have a safe place in FFXIV to express their sexuality as they do in TERA. I've gotta ask though, what's the issue with just playing as the girl Au Ra? Their max heights are 5'3 and their lowest is 4'8, that's plenty short enough for you to play as a girl at like age 15, heck their faces even suggest much younger looks. As much as I detest the younger nadeshiko look of the Au Ra, I've got to ask how is that too old looking for you, because I certainly can't see them as even close to 18, MAYBE 16, but I could see them as younger.

It's why age of consent is constantly up for debate and is different from places to places. By the way, it's been suggested that police within Japan purposely fudge numbers to keep up the whole "Japan is so properly functioning! Look low crime rates!" deal, specifically with stuff like writing off homicides as suicide cases.

Yeah, an insanely negative social stigma (That changes from country to country mind you) to something that people should have a very negative social stigma attached to. The issue is you're creating a safe environment for them to express themselves, I mean, what's SE gonna do when MrCreepypants invites that Lalaqo'te into his private chambers for some fun? Turns out they realize they're not alone with their sexuality and they begin to form small communities that grow larger and larger. It's how being alienated for some specific feature works, and sometimes it's not a bad thing! Shoot, look at safe spaces such as FCs for legitimate sexualities like being gay or bisexual, that's fine because there isn't anything inherently wrong with being gay or bisexual. But it can also work in reverse. SE knows it can't stop stuff like ERP on Balmung, so they generally live it alone unless if it's in public and someone reports it to a GM. So, what will SE do about those pedophile communities that will grow larger and larger, especially whenever the object of their sexuality is handed to them on a silver platter? I think you're applying way to many defining factors to make someone a "pedophile", point is they are sexually attracted to children, it doesn't matter why it happens, for all intents and purposes of the argument, it just happens. And uh, I'd like to see your sources on that, considering there's plenty of arguments to suggest access to stuff like non-con pornographic material helps increase the want to commit the act.

That's an issue though, you can't just write off pedophiles as some minority, especially within gamer/anime communities. Look at what Lolicons have done to the anime industry, they've warped it into a really disgusting thing where a lot of studios are making content advertised and made for them. Look at what they've done to TERA. Heck, look at what creeps did to "My Little Pony" for an example in the western world. It's a legitimate fear to be concerned of it happening with FFXIV, and until you can (Well SE primarily) can think of a solution to that sort of issue, I'm going to stay fairly firm in my position in not supporting it and hope others stay firm in not supporting it as well.

Uh, I'd like to see your source on that claim, last time I checked we've got a child Miqo'te in your first post, and an obviously older option that is the current option for players, so they apparently age. We haven't seen any older girl Miqo'te yet, sure, but it's not like they don't exist (Heck, iirc the leader of the U tribe definitely looks physically older than other male Miqo'te, though he is a male), they age like any other race in Hydaelyn sans Padjal and they're blessed by the elements.

You said "Raya-O-Senna" is hotter than Minfilia. Raya is an entirely young girl, while not everyone who picks Padjal as an option would be a pedo, it sounds like those who pick it because "Padjal are hot" are exhibiting some pedophilic tendencies.. Personally, I would prefer this game to steer away from the (potentially playable) obnoxiously cute races for a few years. That Miqo'te child just looks incredibly unnatural compared to the Hyur and Elezen children... hell, even to adult Miqo'te (do Miqo'te ears AND eyes start off massive before their skull 'grows into them'?). Way too anime for my liking.

Oh man the Vanu Vanu are lovable fluffy bastard. I for one thing the Vath/Gnath are super cute, I love how cute they are with their obsession over food or how they all still use "We" and are still individuals. Or heck the Kobolds! They're cowardly and meek to an adorable fault. Or the Sylphs! They're mischievous and adorable floating cabbages! The only issue with them is the whole "floating" bit.
