Do you think the old zones should be given aether currents?

I think Yoshi have mention about the flying in old area, they will make it available in future but don't know when.

No, personally I've seen what implementing flying EVERYWHERE does to an MMO, it's not pretty, and I like FFXIV, I wouldn't wish that on this game.

If they did it, I would like to see it done one zone at a time. Retrofitting CCH first since it is a part of Ishgard's Territory. From there maybe see. Right now though I don't see where its necessary and on that, It would be at least level 51 before you could even find the currents, by then you've had CCH done and cleared a while ago. Only use would be fate grinding and a few odd Ixali dailies.

It would be nice, not a priority by any means but along with merging some of the smaller zones would be cool to see by 4.0

If they did, they are going to need to redo alot of the old zones, alot of the landscape doesnt extend that far, and would look odd when you view from above
Mountains on the edges are incomplete with only the side facing us and empty on the otherside

Too much work, rather they work on new content

would love to see flight in all the zones but they would have alot of work to do to achieve this but having currents in the old zones might be a way to get it more lively in the old zones i think they should have certain fates reward currents aswell as having to hunt them down

It will not be possible to fly in A Realm Reborn areas, as the maps were not originally designed to allow for flying. We might address this one day, but for now we would like to focus our efforts on adding new areas.

Might happen, might not. Either option works for me.

But, I think most of us would be happy to see new areas.

Traversing the old zones was perfectly fine without flying before the expansion, and they're still perfectly fine now.

Yeah he said that if the demand was there they would devote some resources to retro-fitting the old zones for flight and that they would do it little by little throughout updates.

I dont care how small the old zones are, flight is to fun not to have. They got my vote.
