If they were gonna redo the old zones I'd rather them work on seamless transitions between zones (aka less loading screens) and less invisible walls. Those two things are basically the only things I think other games do better than ffxiv

They'd have to merge them back into their V1.0 sizes to give a reason for it.
On the other hand, I'd love to run around Ul'dah on a flying mount. Limsa likewise would benefit.
The reason they can't, is that the maps are essentially cut in half or a third from where they were in V1.0, and Gridania was originally a bit more of a maze to get to.

I was just curious on everyone's thoughts. I asked this in the FC yesterday. One member commented that he wouldn't want flying in the old zones because it would render the old grounded mounts useless.
Personally, I wouldn't mind even if it's limited. I can't tell you the number of times I've had to figure out how to traverse the terrain. Especially in the Black Shroud.

I wanna be able to glide the least if not fly in old areas D:

				Yeah
In my old days, back in 1.0, I was happy if a foot-high rock didn't stop my character. Jump changed everything. And now jump is not good enough anymore and everyone want to fly. And before we see it coming everyone want to fly to the moon.

				To Op's question: No.

Yes i would like to see flying in old zones
We need a setting to auto use Aetheryte Tickets ~ An amount set by the players like set to 500 Gil if a teleport cost over that amount it will auto-use a ticket!

As cool as it would be to be able to fly in the old zones, it would be a ton of work to make them viable for flight. I've glitched out of the map on more than one occasion and discovered things like one-sided mountains, two-dimensional trees and other scenery, and lots of objects that have huge gaps in them where you wouldn't normally see. I honestly don't really think it's worth the amount of effort that would go into retooling zones meant only for walking through.
