Hybrid races. People always, always, ALWAYS bring up Lala/Miq. There's also been mentioned of Midlander/Elezen and Highlander/Roe. BUT! We now have SEVEN Races. That means that SE would have to, to be fair, make Lala/Miq, Lala/Midlander, Lala/Highlander, Lala/Elezen, Lala/Roe(lol giant potato), Lala/Auri, etc, and even then only a few of those would actually be used(Lala/Miq, Lala/Auri, Mid/Highlander/Elezen, Mid/Highlander/Miq, Mid/Highlander/Auri), leaving probably half or more of these hybrids unused...

Just thought I'd bring that second bit up because people always focus on the Lala/Miq hybrid and none of the other possible combinations.

Children npcs good, areas like the foundation could use more. As playable characters, no, not necessary. The androgynous twins are close enough. Gimme the beast tribes as playable races. I wanna be a kobold!

A gun fanatic or arsonist can't cause any harm in the game. The best they could do is spout their propoganda, but you can blacklist them. A pedophile with the ability to create a child character can, by simply doing what I said. Others are forced to see his disgusting habits. Blacklisting doesn't make someone disappear.

Pedophilia isn't the act of sexual relations with children, that's only one possible aspect of it. Pedophilia is sexual feelings and expressions towards children. Regardless, it would essentially be child pornography.

Ok. Got me there. But let me pose this question, then. What if SE handled it responsibly? If the unequipped child's attire consisted T-shirts for girls and shorts that fell to their knees for both genders? If the bikinis changed to one pieces for the girls? It's known, for a fact, that race/gender affects gear appearance for some items, so this wont be a big issue dev-side. If all 'erotic' clothing was changed to a modest appearance for this race (or in the case of Play Boy Bunny, simply denied the ability to equip it), would you still have an issue with the child character?

Another problem with this 'ermagerd pedos' argument is that people assume SE wont take measures to prevent the sluttifying of the characters. And as far as rule 34 goes, there's nothing anyone can do about that, except be careful what they browse. This wouldn't encourage rule 34 anymore than The Simpsons does.

Personally, I would like to see the option available. It would add more creativity to the creation process, and give us a much wider range of characters. I would like to see the child adventurer, as well as the aged adventurer who has a walking-stick in one hand, and a great sword in the other. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm sorry, but I'd desperately hope SE would be above the creators of TERA, both in game quality and racial options. Plus.. It still doesn't help the fact that people will sexualize them. Like, /blist and all is fine, but I'd prefer not to see grown adults play underage people jumping around in the taffeta set, because you and I both know what they're most likely thinking about.

Cool, Lalafell are a thing, heck Auri women are a thing (I still argue that they look way too childlike and should've given us some actual mature options with regard to them with one of the clans). I'd rather not come even closer to allowing legitimate actual children as PC though. Even if you go the Elin route, at the end of the day it's still 1000 yr old children that folks will end up sexualizing.

I'm not on your side either, but you'd rather allow SE to further pander to a really gross demographic, so I'm sure I'd not want to be on your side. Seriously, are your personal aesthetic tastes worth more to you than keeping the game from being further polluted with some really gross people?

Meh, fair point. It is a term quite commonly used when dealing with japanese media tho, to the point that it tends to refer to any kind of young-looking character. The original meaning is not always implied. But I see what you mean.

Nooot really plenty of people use it with regards to sexualizing younger looking girls, like they're a reason why Hayao Miyazaki talks so negatively about "loli" and "lolicons".. you might see it used with "Lolita" because "Loli" is a shortened form of it, which game from a Russian book about an older man in love with a 12 year old. It's just not a good word to use, from it's origins to the modern day usage. "Shojo" would be the word you want.

They're a fundamental difference between having a child character and giving a person (Specifically an adult) the ability to have control over a child character, the latter having a lot more creeper tones especially considering that they'd be allowed to do a lot of stuff just through well /em.
