Quite. Still, it seems a bit silly to me t refuse to just skip Hildebrand cutscenes and just get the three trials done if you want youer trial roulette. It's not like the field portion of the quests is super long or anything. People were doing this with MSQ long before needing 2.55 complete for Ishgard and 3.0 content was even a thing. And then people started refusing to use Trial rouletted because Steps was in it.

The whole game is optional. But that means if you don't want to do something you have to deal with the consequences that come with your choice. Refuse to do Hildebrand? I guess you really didn't want Trial Roulette that badly, did you? Trial Roulette might be a semi-efficient way to get Tomestones, but you have a few options to go about that even without the roulettes.

That's pretty much what I did... first few quests, the very first ones - I did them properly. After a while though, it's gotten more preposterous and annoying for me, so I just fast forwarded through the cutscenes and convos and such - and that's something I never do in a first time playthrough. But... yeah, I had to, so I did. Never do the trials either, unless the roulette throws me in there... not happy for them even then though. Oh well. It can be done for sure.
