I know I'm not; it's exactly why I'm sick and tired of this "xyz is optional" argument. It's like - something is optional, so nobody cares? Nobody should discuss it? It doesn't deserve the same amount of attention, the same kind of like or dislike as something that is compulsory? @_@ I find that incredibly stupid and annoying.

Quite. Still, it seems a bit silly to me t refuse to just skip Hildebrand cutscenes and just get the three trials done if you want youer trial roulette. It's not like the field portion of the quests is super long or anything. People were doing this with MSQ long before needing 2.55 complete for Ishgard and 3.0 content was even a thing. And then people started refusing to use Trial rouletted because Steps was in it.

The whole game is optional. But that means if you don't want to do something you have to deal with the consequences that come with your choice. Refuse to do Hildebrand? I guess you really didn't want Trial Roulette that badly, did you? Trial Roulette might be a semi-efficient way to get Tomestones, but you have a few options to go about that even without the roulettes.

I really hope that they don't do any more trials in the Hildibrand questline. However, if they do, then I hope it wont lock trial roulette for players who don't want to do his quests

That's pretty much what I did... first few quests, the very first ones - I did them properly. After a while though, it's gotten more preposterous and annoying for me, so I just fast forwarded through the cutscenes and convos and such - and that's something I never do in a first time playthrough. But... yeah, I had to, so I did. Never do the trials either, unless the roulette throws me in there... not happy for them even then though. Oh well. It can be done for sure.

Stuff like Hildebrand is always added in the big updates, not the initial launch of a game. Last I heard Hildebrand was suppose to coming back in Heavensward, so it will probably be in 3.1 or beyond.

They should just eventually do a Hildy roulette with it's own tokens used to buy joke weapons.

They have changed trials and dungeons roulette, I think you only have to complete several of them to participate instead finishing the entire lists. Only 2 needed for expert roulette instead of 3. Also if this is your first time going for any of those dungeons and trials, you will get FIRST priority to get in line so you can complete it ASAP instead of waiting for 3 hours.
