DX11 Crashing?

I haven't done enough stress testing, but changing the game client to run in Full Screen is helping me. I haven't seen a crash for three hours since I changed it, and I was getting CTD every hour or so on Boarderless Window.
Running on a Radeon 285 with latest beta drivers.

I find it curious because according to others it's not exclusive to Nvidia graphic cards.

I think this is a good idea, not sure how to get them to move it though.

Does your Bios support it? Go look up your motherboard and see if it has a Bios update for higher versions of direct x.

I had to do this a long time ago.

I don't know off the top of my head. I would have to see what version I am on and do some research. I do know, that I haven't updated my BIOS is a good amount of time. I have the ASUS Hero VI.

dunno if it is the same but everytime I zone everything will freeze for like 20 seconds then start loading again and let me through to the next zone.. This last time (and hence my reason for coming to General Discussion thread) it finally froze completely and I had to force log off completely to get out of it.. Dunno whats going on.. I had no problems at all before this morning

I never had a crash using the old client. Since the expansion I've been using the DX11 client and I usually get one crash a day, plus one usually whenever exiting the game.

I don't experience any crashes during play, but I could do without the "FINAL FANTASY XIV has stopped working" every time I log out.

Played all night no crashing with DX9, but this is one day, so we'll have to wait and see. I'll report back after the weekend.

Mine does this pretty regularly. DX9 or 11.

Last night I updated my video drivers, did not run anything but FFXIV in DX11 when online. Crashed while in N. Shroud looking at DRK skills in the menu.

Switched to full screen mode and ran in DX11 the rest of the evening with no issues, but I was only on for about 1.5 hrs. When I did a /shutdown, however, it faded to black and just sat there for several minutes. I had to CTRL+ALT+DEL and try to close it with task manager. Doing so crashed the client.

I will run in FS mode tonight to see if it helps again.

I ran last night for about two hours in full screen mode with no issues. Seems that we have narrowed down that this could be related to running in windowed mode. Anyone else give this a test? I plan on testing more this weekend. I will report my findings. Neither my wife nor I have issues running DX9 in windowed mode.

I have an ATI radeon 7850 card and I'm running DX11 and the game crashes at random times for me...most times when zoning into 3.0 areas but also a few times in ARR areas as well...I also run the game in windowed mode...will change it and see if it helps.

This worked for me! Thank you now I can enjoy dx11 hopefully problem free.
