    I have done this too. People fail to realize that your rank and your crafting stats factor in to HQ's.

    Ineed. This is why I would like to (if I can bring myself to do it) provide some raw data for other people to crunch. Part of the problem though is that we -don't- know what all affects crafting. I personally work under the assumption that it is a combination of moon phase, physical/mental stats, elemental stats, in-game month, and Guardian aspect. Couple this with rank in relation to rank of synth, quality, and visible/hidden equipment stats. This is not based on had data, this is just what it seems like is reasonable based on the structure of the game and SE's past actions in 11.

    Even so, If I do manage to get a some data, I will provide all the information I have so people can draw their own conclusions. One thing I do know (from my own experience) is that there is little deviation between standard/bold/rapid/hasty hand in the synth I used to test this with. I have posted this info in other threads (it was not a controlled test, however, so take it with a grain of salt.)

    As I have said before, it doesn't seem to me to be an inherent flaw with system, so much as it is a flaw in the system. That is, the system needs to be tweaked, not rebuilt from the ground up.

    I believe that -more- information should be provided, but not all of it. I personally would like to see something from SE along the lines of "Stats, elements, moons, months, and guardian affect things" without them giving us the actual algorithms. Just like in real-life I want to get a basic idea relatively easy, but I want the secrets to be, well, secrets we ferret out. I would even be happy to have this information learned in-game through crafting/gathering related quests.

    For example, I go to a miqo who informs me, "Whoa is me, I need a moon flower so I can make this bouquet of flowers! But I need a particularly exceptional one, or I will loose my customer! I bet if you went out during the new moon, you have much better luck finding the perfect specimen!"

    So yeah. There you go.

    If I remember correctly, in one of the as the devs posts, they specifically said that your guardian and your birthday don't affect anything at the moment.
