lol that's only applicable when it's one dog versus the other...good try though. I'm "barking" so loud b/c I'm having to fend off hoards and hoards of ignorant fools. And unlike the weaker, more cowardly dog, I'm biting back. And for your information, my argument is rock solid. Check out the initial post "likes." XI-supporters just don't bother speaking out against you and "your kind," regardless of what is being said. They know that reason means nothing to you people, so why bother. And, perhaps, blind unfounded hatred of a game most of you either didn't play, or didn't understand, just isn't enough to "rally" them into responding. However, they do care enough to make sure you know that your opinion matters very little to them. So, go pretend whatever you want in your little world -whatever helps you sleep at night.

And my point is proven ^.^.

OPs with valid arguments get a ton more "likes" than your initial(and subsequent) silly little rant. Go back to bed.

Anyway, I like XIV for its differences from XI because I played XI for 4 years, and have since played several games that have advanced the RPG and MMO genre. While I loved XI for a long time, I'm not so jaded that I think that XI is not completely flawed. I'm also not so blind that I would ever call this game XI-2, regardless of the similarities. It is simply another entry in the Final Fantasy franchise.

IMO the importance is to draw good elements from all games (even non mmo) and improve them. I think we see that with the battle system now, it's probably more like aion or rift, but once you get going it's got a smoother xi-ish feel.

Also, this is a Final Fantasy title, so people trying to say that stuff is too 'xi' is just silly. Familiar names, spells, abilities, summons etc are what keep us drawn to FF titles. I love seeing new ways SE shows off our old favorites from past FF titles.

I agree that XIV was pretty crappy when it was released. But when it was released you were just immersed into the potential of the title. So while XIV might still not be worth paying for, without a doubt it has more room to expand, evolve , adapt and grow more than any WoW clone. I'm happy we've got someone like Yoshi-P fixing our game, and his team really seems to be pulling suggestions from the players (obv. not stupid ones like 'omg starts me with a zillion gil')

Exactly, this game has a lot more potential to grow outside of dated systems from XI. I'm all for inspiration from elements of other MMOs or games, including XI, but copy pastaing a system from XI is just stepping backwards nine times out of ten.

Imo, SE should be looking to Bioware and AreaNet for inspiration. SW:TOR, and GW2 are taking leaps and bounds in the MMO genre that are making XIV look like a last gen title.
