Any plans for compensaion due to a full 24 hours with inability to play?

They are giving you time to do some chores/homework and talk to loved ones before you vanish into Ishgard.

I think its really considerate of them.

So many chores got done today....I'm ashamed that it took maintenance to make me do it.
