How to deal with this kind of friend?

In XI, I reported people for RMT whenever I came across them. These were ones who bragged in party chat/linkchat about it, and always had the 'best' gear after changing to a new job and then 'miraculously' getting to level 75-99 in a few days due to either power leveling or being in a leech party in Abyssea. If someone I knew irl was buying gil etc, I'd still report them for breaching the ToS we all agreed to when we first signed up to play.

In XIV, I have reported FC members who have bought gil. The rules are there for a reason and even if my best friend was buying gil (She doesn't as she shares the same view I do about this), I'd report her and she would do the same to me if I was buying gil. True this is just a game, but others get gil the legitimate way... while some want to get the best things as fast as possible. Yeah, there's somethings on the MB I want even now... but not gonna sink to RMT.

Also as far as true friend.

True friends generally have the same moral ground as you. One of the reason people are friends are they act a like and believe in the same things.
I wouldn't call this person a friend.

So, when playing any game, you dont mind if someone cheats and you lose every time? because you are immoral? Im sorry but that doesnt make sense. This has nothing to do with morality. We are playing the same game and some are taking unfair advantages, cheating to get what they have, and some of you talk about tolerance like they are victims of being reported. Just because this isnt a game where you can win or lose in a traditional way doesnt change the facts.

Also, selling runs isnt against ToS. Not that I like mercs either, but its a grey area and not technically wrong.

First of all, it's "might as well". Funny how stupid arguments and inability to speak properly tend to match a lot. Secondly, selling runs ins obnoxious, but not against the ToS and that in and of itself doesn't obliterate the economy. Please, just...think for a second before saying things like this.

you feel better about that? op came to forum to ask a simple question bout a friend who has brought gold and decided not to say anything bout it ,then is treated to toxic players calling him scrum and morally wrong that hes keeping quiet about, but yet there are guilds who charging players arm and leg to buy them a clear coil and no says anything bout. i don't like rmt as much as the next person but there not need to be rude and nasty to op about it.

Because that's not a reportable offense.
Guilds are selling their SERVICE for coil. The "buyers" are the only ones at fault (most likely cause you know. they buy the gil to even afford the prices). There's nothing wrong in selling at all. RMT stands for Real Money Trade, just an FYI.

When it comes to sell run nobody said it wrong and the one who being blame is the buyer...

What's the different between people cheat during exam and people who pay others to complete his thesis?
From my eyes if sell run is not wrong, then you can pay your guild mates real life money in exchange for gil, I believe that's also not wrong.

P/S: I despise people who sell or buy run... they're real loser in this game, the only community that making this game unfriendly.

However, do you think most of the run buyers get their gil from a legit source? Haha. RMT gil is everywhere...
