Square Enix issues me a warning for 'being inactive' GM help?

I'm not going to add fuel to the fire here, but guys... there is more to this story. You can't just be banned for being AFK. This customer support representative probably doesn't understand the intricacies of the warning, which is why they aren't giving a better explanation. The GM who issues the warning probably witnessed OP taking actions while flagged as AFK. Whether or not it was OP on the character or not is not my business. Regardless, the thing that bugs me the most about this whole thing? "Know one..."

thats why i asked where they afked at because they just dont hand out warning like that if thats the case everyone in mor would of got one....

I can't read that tiny text, but does it say he was banned for AFKing in a dungeon/raid or just AFKing in general? Or was it AFKing during live support chat?

I zoomed the part in where it says he was being banned (or punished) for being afk.

Yeah, that bothered me, too. English is obviously not that support agent's first language.

This is the first time I've heard of someone getting a warning for "being afk," its quite possible his account either got hacked or was used by someone else where he lives.

Something is fishy then. Don't instances have an auto logout if someone goes AFK? I know outside of them, you can AFK all you want and still be logged in.

While I can't speak on whether they do or not, there is the fact that people can simply vote to kick if someone has been afk for too long. I've never heard of someone being allowed to stay afk in any instance for more than maybe 5 minutes at the most when it wasn't a pre-formed party, and if that's the case then clearly they have no problem with them being afk, or they would vote to kick as well. I somehow doubt that being AFK in an instance was the case....

That being said, I do agree that there is probably more to this story than we know, but given the information we have been presented with, as well as judging based on the text response from the other person on the support line, it does seem like this was an unfair warning and should be removed from the player's account record.....

EDIT: The only conceivable scenario I can think of where someone could receive a warning for being AFK is if they repeated entered instances and were kicked from them each time with "AFK" flagged as the reason. Even then though, the OP claims that the original reason for the warning was flagged as "inappropriate chat behavior" to begin with, so the afk aspect of the claim on the part of the support line seems a bit suspicious.....

I know my entire fc would have been banned a loooooong time ago. Many of us *never* log out for days at a time.
