No, there really doesn't need to be. If you read the fine print when you signed up, they can actually ban you for any reason they want. We all agreed to that.

Moreover, I'm sure the OP knows exactly why he got banned and just isn't sharing that with us. Whole thing reeks of false outrage. Him threatening legal action was good for a laugh though.

They can't ban you for anything. You can only get banned for violating the rules outlined in that fine print, and being afk was not one of them. Someone else mentioned earlier this thread he may of been botting, but since I don't know that I'm not going to throw accusations. As for the second part I don't know what to think. I do agree that there seems to be something more to it, possibly some info he is keeping out, or he really is clueless as to why.

There will not be a response, atleast not here. It is a matter between SE and and the OP, and I doubt very much they would discuss it publicly.

Regardless of what op did or didn't do, that conversation is awful. Either GMs need to start providing more info, or the chat helpers need to better understand the rules.

"You were afk so you got banned" is not a sufficient response, especially as op wasn't even online.

If they don't already they need to record the exact time the offense was committed, as well as EXACTLY what the offense was.

It SHOULD be.
Even when I got a 2 week suspension from the forums, they cited the exact post that violated the policies.
In-game should be the same way.

Yeah and every prisoner in America is innocent.

All we have is what he is choosing to share with us. GMs don't go around warning/banning people without cause. I'm sure he isn't painting a complete picture for us.

The GM isn't admitting you didn't do anything wrong, they're telling you that nobody accessed your account but you at the time of the offense. I wonder why throughout the entire conversation you never inquired about this "inappropriate text".

So here's a question. That email that you got... Did it have the same terrible grammar and spelling this agent had? And was the link to contact customer support in that same email? And did you have to use your SE login to access it? And was that link even directing you to an official SE site? This seems so ridiculous, it has phishing scam written all over it.

Either the OP is hiding some sort of damning details, or is simply asking the wrong questions/speaking to the wrong person.

Do a GM call and figure this stuff out. Complaining about such vague info here is not going to help your side of the argument at all, OP.
