Please Allow 50's to Enter Ishgard w/o having completed MSQ

The new player aspect is troubling, and I've been saying it for months.

It's pretty unique from an MMO standpoint to gate off an expansion behind such a huge requirement. Normally you just have to be the right level and off you go.

I think SE kind of painted themselves into a corner by not having the ARR story be self-contained. The way the story works, you HAVE to complete it before going to Ishgard makes any sense. This is terrible for a number of reasons, but the biggest one is that it makes the expansion not draw in brand new players (or it does and they feel cheated when they hear what they have to do to play with the new shiny). I expect SE to take a hit in the reviews of Heavensward for this one. It may otherwise be a brilliant expansion, but this one thing alone is going to turn off so many people who would otherwise have picked the game up.

Then you begin to realize HW is for Veteran's at the moment. They aren't really aimed for the new crowd, but saying 'Hey we got these new stuff, come join!"
Why would someone new care about a 5th expansion if they didn't even play the game before?
Too many people are using Newp's as a defence and I have no idea why.
Not a single newpie should even care about 3.0, at all, unless they like the game as they go. If they like it, they will feel hype and buy 3.0.
If not, then okay. I've seen a similar thread like this when they told us it was gated....Seems to me people want hand-outs.
We have our hands-held so many times in this game, you actually gotta work for it for once.
Don't use new folks as a Scapegoat.

It's funny you bring that up. Every time old content gets nerfed so new or struggling players can catch up, people reacted so violently that they wanted to throw new players under the bus because "they should learn and suffer like us veterans". Now there's a 180 going on here for 3.0 with people saying "WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE NEW PLAYERS!?"
