    Parrying. A suggestion!

Parrying is one of Marauders fun mechanics, allowing you to counter-attack with Fracture to prevent the enemy using weapon skills for a brief moment, similar to how the evasion mechanic works with pugilist. However, there is no clear indication when you character parries an attack. (There is an animation, but it's hard to see in the heat of battle and is usually cancelled out by other animations).

The only way i've been able to successfully use the parry mechanic is by watching for my Foresight buff to disappear, i've never been able to notice a natural parry.

My suggestion is - add a clear indicator to when your character parries an attack, much like pugilist's 3d combat text "Evade!" for when they evade an attack.

They don't have one of those for parry? Jeez I hadn't even realized.... We have ones for miss and evade, parry definitely should be in there too. +1

I don't have any problem seeing this animation, and if you need an indicator, just watch for a zero or a number thats relatively lower than normal...? I thought FFXIV did this very well actually : \

I think it was more along the lines of "Parry!" popping up like "Evade!" and "Miss!" do.

A parry indicator aside from the slight animation would be nice. The animation can easily be missed during battle or blocked by camera positioning or even the enemy itself in the case of large ones.

Pretty much this, It is very easy to miss the animation and the combat log can move much faster than you can read at times, especially in party play.

Well, there is, it pops up on your character as a 0 if you use foresight, and a much much smaller amount of damage normally. There are also chat log filters. I can understand it saying Parry if you take 0 damage, but for partial parries you'd need two displays for the damage taken and the fact that you parried.

I mean.... what your asking for is already in the game, there are two indicators as I mentioned already. You just don't want to take this information and use it? I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just don't understand the need to go to this next, redundant, level when all the information is already there.

My point is the information is very easy to miss and not as clear as a successful evasion. I know the information is already there :

Agreed on having the Parry indicator pop up UNLESS SE has unusable skills grayed out until the trigger conditions are met.

The main time I'm ready to use Fracture is after I use Foresight and waiting for that buff to drop off.

Partial parries sneak in there, as the OP said, the parry animation sometimes does not play properly.

I've resorted to a filtered battle log that tries to hone in on my defensive reactions: parries/blocks, partials, evade, and when just when the enemy misses. What party members do or what monsters have their way with my party is no longer a concern of this Battle Box!
