There is a lot more to it than this, and I only stayed for so long because of the people I got to meet and it was a difficult decision, I did enjoy the game for a long period of time and I got my moneys worth but then it turned into a repeated nightmare of boredom because they've not put enough into it. Just little things such as exploring as we got to do on Skyrim, we don't have any of that (unless you find a glitch and then you'll have more fun than ever), and talking of fun, there's just not enough of it. There are no challenges on the game, you just move your character and push the same buttons in the same sequence 100 times over.

I did want to start my own thread and not hijack this one but it's not letting me for some reason so sorry about that. I hope for those who are around for the expansion enjoy it but please consider this. Is the time you spend grinding really worth it in the end?

Helping a grandma to cross the street is also a hero's job. The live of a hero is not always full with epic battles and bad boys. A hero help where he can, regardless of the task. Only bad heros are picky and do only the tasks with the most fame in it.

I have noticed that people leave pretty quick, it's a different mentality than in FFXI. I remember having friends for years over there, not here. I'm not sure why that is, but the difference can also be felt in how people treat each other vs. a game like FFXI. Anyone else feel that difference? I can't put my finger on it.

I understand that. I played 11 over 4 years and felt as though I could have put more time into it. I've only played 14 for about nine months or so. I was part of a big Free Company and the people were decent enough, friendly to new players and such, but the amount of people that just suddenly stopped playing was huge. The one difference I see in 14 is that players are so much more selfish than they were in 11. I remember getting my lvl 55 cap and the amount of help I got was amazing. Eight People gave their time to get me through it as a group because they enjoyed being able to do something on the open world map.

You know, I was gonna reply to most of your points, mostly to help you maybe understand why things function in a MMO the way they do, but then I saw this and I stopped caring about you. Shaking your head? Because someone was happy they did something? He was proud, he was happy; he put effort into something and got somewhere and felt great and you shake your head? Why? Because it's not what you would do? Fine if it's not your thing, but damn if you just 'feel sorry' for people enjoying themselves.

This just in: Every MMO drops a lot of subs before an expansion. They are back once it's out.

I think The LS/ FC setup and party setup in 14 is largely to blame. Then you add in playe r lack of patience and selfish mentalities. I think the ability view one ls at a time setup encouraged ppl to band together. Ls's had to be managed so that loot wasn not just a free for all. You put in time until it was your turn to get the gear you had been waiting for. Personally i loved the point system and was lucky enough to find eg ls's that solid honest players.

I didn't say he was happy, I said he was proud. He didn't enjoy the process either so what is there to brag about? If you're not having fun on a game what's the point? 30 hours of doing the same dungeon for one item. I'd feel sympathy for anyone who used that as something to be proud of. I'm glad you decided not to reply to me you'd have only bored me trying to defend the game.
