Another "they quit" thread

7. Life is spent in queues or waiting in Party Finder. Sure enough I could have found statics but I can't predict other peoples lives. But I've lost count of the hours I've spent waiting to do stuff on that game.As someone who enjoyed pvp most of all it was agony.
8. One guy told me he done the same dungeon over 70 times for part of his relic quest. This is cruel by SE. We're forced to do the same things over and over and over. That's over a day of his life gone. The part that had me feeling sorry for him was he was proud of how much he'd got done on the game, the gil he'd made, the fact he had everything upto level 50. He was actually bragging (in a nice and proud way) but that was probably the moment when I realised I needed to get the hell away from FFXIV.

You know, I was gonna reply to most of your points, mostly to help you maybe understand why things function in a MMO the way they do, but then I saw this and I stopped caring about you. Shaking your head? Because someone was happy they did something? He was proud, he was happy; he put effort into something and got somewhere and felt great and you shake your head? Why? Because it's not what you would do? Fine if it's not your thing, but damn if you just 'feel sorry' for people enjoying themselves.

I didn't say he was happy, I said he was proud. He didn't enjoy the process either so what is there to brag about? If you're not having fun on a game what's the point? 30 hours of doing the same dungeon for one item. I'd feel sympathy for anyone who used that as something to be proud of. I'm glad you decided not to reply to me you'd have only bored me trying to defend the game.

Why would you care what someone else is proud about? It's none of your business. The only time people care about someone else being proud about something is when they are jealous.

I felt genuine sympathy, not jealousy. I was helping this person, I haven't named this person nor did I offer them insult. As I stated it is only what I think.

Edit: You are also very wrong about pride. When someone is proud, you can also be impressed, and proud of what someone else has achieved. I can honestly say I am impressed with the amount of determination it must have taken for them to do this, but I can't help the sympathy I feel too.

My account is still active and I'd have started my own thread but as I stated before it wouldn't let me. And so far I've not argued against anyone else's opinion, called anyone a name, or told anyone what they actually felt. I merely stated why I have left the game as this was the only thread I found related to players who quit and more than anything I want SE to start giving more to the players who give so much time and money to them.

The funny part is, this wasn't even originally an "I quit" thread. Honestly if you're gonna quit, then quit. If you're not enjoying the game anymore then by all means move on to something that you do think is fun. Coming to the forums to post an "I quit" thread (or rather, necroing an old thread to re-appropriate it into one) is basically just seeking attention by bashing on the game and you have to expect at least some people that read it to react negatively. People that really want to quit just fade away.
