They can simply make an option where you get to choose if you want blood showing or not. One of the games for example, Assassin's Creed.![]()
Yet we have skeletons, which are taboo in China. It's unrealistic to water a game down so much that it appeals to everyone, and currently it's only done selectively with certain things. There's no reason we can't have some blood. We've got violence already, and plenty of it. We've got other things that are changed already as well.
Interesting! Should have done a better research, much appreciated.

Adding the "option" means that it's still there, and thus has no actual effect on the rating.
Consolidating the rating to be acceptable in all regions is more important than showing blood.
Two things. One, things like skeletons have already begun to change because of the release in China (read the note for Amon that is included in his artwork). Second, skeletons aren't actually taboo. Here's a good read that helps explain it: https://www.techinasia.com/china-doe...iddle-kingdom/Yet we have skeletons, which are taboo in China. I'm aware, obviously. I used it as an example that things ARE changed for regions already. With that said, there's no logic behind the idea that they should make an exception for blood over anything else. They already change things. Simply add it for certain versions of the game, and take it away for others.
It is easier to change things for different contries that use also different versions than to change things for different contries that use still the same version.I'm aware, obviously. Yes, in the FF serie blood only show up as part of the environment (FF VII Shinra building after rescuing Aerith) or in CGI.
In the new Heavensward opening CGI blood is showing in the arm cut scene.
