That's the whole point. They are changing that. And it's not so much use the duty finder. Duty finder is meant to be as an instance initator. You will have checkboxes in there that will allow you to go with less people or to search/fill/sync with people. They are even adding a checkbox for max ilvl sync on I believe all content. So even if overegaring by 80 ilvls you would be able to tick that and go at like 5 or 10 ilvls tops over.
It'd be less of a hassle to remove df req, and let me march in manually.
They are doing that. When they say 'use the duty finder' they mean that particular menu that signs you (and your group if applicable) up to enter that instance. The matchmaking element will be disabled if you choose, such that you can enter with fewer than 4 (or 8) people and also retain your current level and item level. You could use this feature to enter with a friend and completely wreck everything inside while he/she is getting through the low level dungeons etc.
