Look at it from a practical point of view. Your job is to not let the enemies murder your team. Your DPS pulling is not going to cause this to happen, worse case scenario the DPS just dies before you can take enmity from him. Overpower / Flash is going to handle the vast majority of this job for you. If anything, this should be a complaint of the healer, because mobs pulled outside Flash/Overpower are MUCH likely to draw enmity from the healer.

If everyone is alert and not AFK, almost nothing changes whether you pull or a DPS pulls, except the fact you aren't doing it. It's likely you're just playing with people more experienced at the game than you. Many of the lower dungeons can actually easily be cleared with 4-DPS or 3 and a healer. As long as the healer isn't being hit, the tank is doing his job. If you're AoEing and the DPS pull more than you can handle, then you can complain. But this thread just seems like a hissy fit that you aren't getting the chance to cast shield lob more often.

What i think bothers tanks is the idea that you aren't as important as you think you are, and letting the DPS die in retaliation is your way of trying to prove otherwise. There's really nothing insulting about DPS or healers pulling heists without you giving them the ok to do so, unless you actually think this way.

What is bothersome is the game play was set-up to rely on team members playing their role to get through the dungeon. When people start thinking "I have done this for the billionth time and I don't care about you or anyone else but me", it no longer focuses on team work. May as well bring on the solo dungeons.

But you aren't solo. And they aren't fighting solo. And they aren't stopping you from doing your job. They aren't stopping anyone from doing their job. I can see if they're just running rooms ahead without you, but if they're in your face, i don't see why on earth you can't just walk over there, press a button once or twice and take the mob from them.

Again, this is a complaint for the healer, not the tank. Theoretically, if the DPS can go run off, pull mobs without you, and the healer is able to keep him alive...you should just switch to sword oath and make the whole dungeon go quicker.

Kind of reminds me of tanks complaining about healers switching to cleric stance when the healer never lets them die. Tanks cry about everything.

Indeed, as a healer main this kind of behavior is disconcerting, especially because not all tanks are on the ball. If a DPS pulls a pack and the tank is dithering about, I'm not going to heal that DPS. This is not to be selfish, to feel entitled, I'm keeping myself off of those mobs' aggro table. I have never had a DPS go out of their way to pick up any mobs off me after I heal them, only once they've finished tunnel visioning whatever they decided to pull. Particularly with dungeons beyond Stone Vigil, things hit squishies hard, and I'm not about to pull a dragon aevis on my own head, getting my heals constantly interrupted, and getting killed because of a BRD with an itchy trigger finger. That DPS can die and the mobs will leash back to their natural habitat. If you want to control the pace, roll a tank. I did, and turns out I actually enjoy it.
