I'm also curious about the development of the Armor Log that was mention a while back. Link

Q: Is there any update on the weapon and armor log?

A: We've currently finished off a lot of the details, but we have to plans for implementation, we've been estimating the amount of work for each. The first idea would simply have players building a collection of weapons and armor, while the second idea would allow players to read the lore surrounding the gear they obtain. However, this data will affect the player data used in real time, so we are carefully investigating this at the moment. Next week we will reach a conclusion and proceed for actual implementation, but if we decide to go with the first idea it will be implemented in patch 2.4. In the case we decide on the second option, it will be implemented a bit further in the future. In any event, we've progressed quite a bit on this and we will have our verdict soon enough.
If this is still going to be a thing, then the collector/pack rat in me is definitely looking forward to it, even if it's not related to glamours (yet).

I'm hoping, at the very least, that it would only require the appropriate glamour prism to record it in the log. I'm guessing we'll have to record it manually, in some form or fashion. This would most likely result in spirit bonding each recorded piece to the player (similar to casing a glamour). However, I think sacrificing the piece would be going a bit too far. As long as it's bonded to the player, how and when the player decides to dispose of the item should be a choice left to the individual player themselves.

Exactly, discarding the gear manually is a small effort I'll gladly put in to avoid re-farming gear (or worst, relic).

I would be happy if they made the armoire useful and a bit easier to use

A Glamour Log will not happen. It fundamentally fails to meet the requirements Square has continuously set forth. Primarily that our character data already takes a lot of space and every suggestion we've put forth that would make that space grow larger has been shot down. Every. Single. Time. A Glamour Log would make each and every single characters data size increase linearly with each and every new piece of gear added to the game. This would have a chilling effect on the production of new gear as each new piece would mean the glamour data for every single character in the game would increase due to the addition. My sticking to an inventory system every single character's maximum size is a known quantity that doesn't change regardless of how much the gear has. You need to come up with a solution that realistically takes character server data into account or the suggestion will be dead on arrival.

So i can have 10 retainers pact to the gilz with gear but not a catalog that can remember gear I have? That don't make sense , as it is still char data rite? They are giving us more storage in 3.0 with either give current retainers more space or giving us another retainer all together.

Just let us store all kind of gear in the chest where we store AF1 and event items, the one that removes the dye and spiritbond so it doesn't take that much space

(tho I guess it doesn't actually store them, just check your quest log and checks if you finished and gives you anew one, the one you "store" are destroyed)

I'm also thinking they may scrap the armoire for something more efficient (possibly accessible from the main menu). Of course this is only speculation.

    A) You pay for extra retainers which help justify the extra space.

    B) You can only have 4. Hyperbole to try and make a point is dead on arrival too.

Doesn't change the reality that every suggestion that would require more character data space was shot down for that exact reason. It's happened tons of times already. Arguing with me won't change that reality. I'm just pointing out a truth that is clearly inconvenient for some of you guys.

I'm also playing Glamour and I just have to be wise about Inventory Management.I discarded the out-dated glamour pieces from time to time to clear spaces in the inventory but no regret since i used them for few months already.Only few of glamour pieces that i'll never discard no matter what,of course they eat spaces but like I said I just have to be wise about Inventory Management. You can't deposit everything in the world you know ...

This isn't actually true. They increase character data regularly as it is. Every added achievement, every quest, triple triad cards, mounts, minions, etc. are all separate bits of character data being added with every patch. While it's true that adding a glamour log would increase character data, it wouldn't have to add very much. You only need a single bit of data to record whether or not a player has obtained a particular piece of gear. A collection of 1,000 pieces of gear would be minimally 1kb, but probably a little more due to some system overhead. Multiply that by the 4.5 million accounts and generously account for 8 characters per account and you have a whopping 4.5 GB of character data across all characters on all servers.

What's more, achievements actually contribute significantly more to character data since they're not binary. Very many of them have counters with several digits that take up a lot of space with pretty minimal reward.
