But just going off that notion you could imaging something like higher drops rates (atma/dungeon drops) or higher light collected as opposed to someone starting a new relic without a ZW. Or how about right off the bat they have people customize this new weapon and it goes through the same Alex/materia process the ZW peeps already went through, and obviously we will not have to do it again because we can just get a copy scroll... Millions saved right off the bat. IDK bout y'all but that sounds MORE THAN ENOUGH to justify having gone through the ZW quest...

I don't think it'll be so bad. To be fair, implementing a shortcut for people who did the first Relic was a bit of a surprise for me, and I don't think it's something they had to do. It's a gift, and I think that's good enough.

But if all we get after spending millions of gil and countless hours into it is a "easier" start to the new relic grind then i will feel very sad indeed and most likely wont be going for the next relic.

I always figured this is how the current relics would end. I mean, the progression of this game is VERY vertical, and it's designed from the ground-up to be accessible for new and returning players. It wouldn't make sense to continue the current relics and eventually build an access quest that would require new players to grind through the entire quest chain. By resetting the quest, the new relic remains accessible to people who start playing at HW.

For this reason, I only pursued a single relic, and I didn't spend too much on the uber 1337 materia for my stats. I had a great i135 weapon, and now I'll get to use it for a bit in HW, and then it will be a glamor piece... and I'm totally cool with that.

Lesson learned, though, for everyone else who saw fit to grind out multiple relics and dump millions of gil into them.

Let's look at SE's track record in FFXI. FFXI raised the cap many times but only three level caps ever mattered; 50, 75, and 99. Relics became relevant at 75 and most people were unable to obtain them due to the cost, people, and time required for said items. Mythics were made as an alternative and for newer jobs. Once SE said they were raising the cap again people were legitimately concerned that weapons that took millions of gil and man hours to make were now worthless. SE assured that relic/mythic would make a come back with an alternative in the form of Empyrean. Relic did in Fact make a comeback with the i119 gear as did the other two weapon forms. Relic and mythic are even easier now than they ever have been considering the loosening of restrictions on related events. In short....you have nothing to worry about. I guarantee that whatever the 3.0 relics end up being, that they will tie into the 2.0 relics.

Yoshi-P has already confirmed that 2.0 relics will be completely replaced by new relics in 3.0. The only connection is that 2.0 relic holders will get head starts in the quest chain.

But that's the thing... nothing about this game's design hinted that relics would be handled in any other way.

The problem is I highly doubt we'll keep our stats customization. It is unfair for new players that joined the game in Heavensward to have a relic with none min-max stats compared to other players that can.

I don't see the problem with new players having non minmaxed stats if they are given the option to fix it with a new sphere scroll later, like the current relics.

Also you get a nice glamour item. I'd rather have a pretty weapon glamour that not many people will have years from now than a relic continuation, honestly.

Thing is, more than half of the zodiacs zeta dont look as good as nexus. Perhaps its just my personal opinion but... I turned in my nexus spairai for the weapon damag and stats, otherwise i would have kept the nexus
