Bring on Personal Wings! [Beyond Heavensward Thread]

Non-functional wings on a new race, sure that's fine... But functional ones or ones to add to current races for aesthetic reasons... That'd be a nightmare. First off, the pictures posted in the OP are disastrous clutter. You would kill your team mates having those out as they would block people's view of Telegraphs. No longer did you not dodge Weights because of lag, but because you couldn't see them because the winged Miqo'te blocked everyone's view. Being able to fly on personal characters would also break fights like Titan or Leviathan as they would mitigate falling threats. The other problem is it would either detract from new attractions like flying mounts and personal airships as it would be a close enough speed to not need to use them, or it would have to be slower, thus mitigating the need for it altogether. I mean, I would LOVE to fly around like Goku on my Monk... but... then why would I need a flying mount? Also that would suggest I could fly at will, which eliminates any world threat of aggro since I can't get gravitied off of a mount

As has been said, the ones on gear or on a new race would be fine, but fully spread ones like those Aion ones are too big, they clutter the screen, and they look tacky. I understand wanting to have something like wings. That's fine. Your efforts are better spent asking for more pieces of gear with wings attached, as you're less likely to find resistance from the community.
