So my main worry is, new players that come once Heavensward is released, and later, they are going to have a lot of trouble.
To be fair, it doesn't matter when you start, if you're doing dungeons with 50 ilv below other people, most of the time, they won't be happy.. Especially for a tank. I level'd a WHM specifically for that reason because I knew my WAR would have trouble while gearing up. So I got my WAR a full set of gear before hitting the dungeons and it went swimmingly.

Tanks get a lot of perks while running dungeons, such as setting the pace for the run, shorter queues, you can basically hold the run hostage if you want. With all those perks, comes the responsibility of having to get the basics down. Nothing can salvage a run with an inadequate tank..

Just do some hunts and gear up using tomes, start doing trials for poetics then buy the i120 weapon, that should get you going pretty well.

Now, if your reason for failing is not in the gear.. then you'll have problems, I have a friend that quit tanking just for this reason and I hear about the same thing happening other people as well. 'Tis the tank's life.

P.S. Let's not worry about what new players will do in 3.0. Just worry about what you and your bf will do to gear up. We don't have to make this into a bigger problem than it is.. Because at the core of it, you're just tired of how people treat you guys which is completely valid.. Trying to start an all-inclusive campaign to make this a happy rainbow filled place for the "new" players that aren't even in the game yet, not necessary, they'll figure it out on their own.. Chances are, it'll take them hell of a lot shorter than 3 days to get to ilv66 too because it'll be streamlined.

That's the price you pay for queueing in DF, though. All you can reasonably expect is that the other players at least meet the minimum ilvl requirement for that dungeon. Sometimes you get a fresh 50 barely-geared player, sometimes it's the tank, and you can either deal with it or eat the 30-minute debuff for quitting. If you don't like it, don't queue in DF.

All of your replies and points are good, and each to their own opinion.

My main concern, as mentioned in the opening post, is for new players, a lot of them might feel stranded at level 50, thankfully we knew what we were doing. Now i am not in a rush to get to il120+ or whatever because , to be honest the end game dungeons, specifically Haukke HM , Lost city and Halatali HM , i love farming.

I see many people saying i need a new FC, noted, and already searching.

Lot's of people saying i should make a party finder, for farming, noted, and honestly i had forgot about the party finder, so thank you.

A few people have misread or not seen enough points that i mentioned or forgot to mention,

The HM dungeons/il50- il70 dungeons are fun to farm, i love them, i wasn't complaining, this IS NOT a rage post but more of an observation and worry for new players, however the queue times for them , even with a paladin in party is 40mins +.

A few people mention the community is horrific, i agree, and even in the last 7-8 hours this has been proven with Crystal tower. I specifically and politely mentioned i am low item-level, i will be squishy and i am in need of the loot, then proceeded to "Need" the loot which could have boosted my ilvl by tons, now, i wouldn't usually complain but the person who always got the loot was in full dreadwyrm, and had no need of it, so i asked, why do you need it, no angry tone, just a simpe question, reply "Doing my weekly, just thought it would look good"

Sorry that happened to you again, having a bad experience in this game, Mabel. Wish you were on my server so we could run stuff ^^ And yep, I more saw your post as having a concern with the general attitude of people and their behavior towards new 50s and new players in general. I hope your situation improves and that your FC search works out ^^ I was on your server for a bit -- the FC Vagabond Knights were always very helpful to me back when I didn't even have a 50 yet (and was farming Darklight...) - if they're still around I'd recommend them highly. Their leader is named Crimsonknight Botifer now, I think ^^ Good luck!!

This is more of a "DF is unable match you up with anyone" kind of situation. Sometimes it is due to lack of roles or too many players queued up. Pre-formed incomplete parties have a slightly harder time because they have to be matched up with solo queued players or specifically queued parties that fit the criteria. Even worse if you're looking for a tank or healer - though not so much for DPS.

Looting gear for glamour purposes is a legitimate reason to Need something, sorry to say. It's fair game. RNG does not discriminate; no mercy, no exceptions. Only thing you can do is queue as the job you want to get the equipment for and just hope you can out-roll anyone else who can Need it along with you. However, if the other person agreed to pass on the gear but looted it anyway, you can report this player for investigation since SE takes loot agreements quite seriously. Note that if they don't say anything or decline your request, don't throw a tantrum; just hope that RNG is kind to you.

Gonna play devil's advocate for your FC here.

You said you just joined a few days ago and stated you were new to the game. This means, most of those FC members wouldn't know you from Adam. Have you been chatting it up with them? Being friendly? Most people aren't going to drop what they're doing to run random dungeon X with someone they don't know. Maybe if you asked if anyone wanted to do a high level/expert roulette, you might get a few bites, but I'd hardly expect much help just running dungeons. If you asked for help with something in the relic quest-line like Chimera/Hydra/Ifrit/Garuda/Titan you might get a few bites there too.

Yes there are altruistic people out there who will drop whatever they're doing to help some newbies run dungeons, but let's be real here. Most are going to only do something if it nets them some form of a reward as well, especially if they don't know the person they're helping very well. Make friends with people in the FC first, then start asking for help from them.

Most people have probably had that one guy, who gets invited, doesn't do anything but request help from the more seasoned players, then bails on the FC randomly when he doesn't get what he wants. It can make someone feel like they're just being used as a means to an end. No effort was made to be social, just demands for help. Don't be that guy.

You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
    You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.

You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.

This community astounds me at times.

About the OP's experience and assumption that new players will have too much trouble. I think it all depends on your attitude.

1.) I run my FC, do not ask anyone for help.
2.) I am a leader in 3 different LS, and do not ask anyone for help.
3.) I am a Lucis crafter and can make HQ il110 for as soon as I hit 50.

Now with the above, yes it is easy for anyone. I did not make use of any of the above 2 weeks ago when I leveled my lnc from 15 specifically because I had someone in my FC that whines endlessly for help and never helps anyone else. He whined about queue times for drg, he complained about being kicked from parties for not always having HQ MB gear for when he hadn't purchased the tome equivalent yet, and he complained he did not have time to farm dungeons for gear or tomes.

So I started to level my lancer to prove he was the problem(it was 15). I used my lowbie roulette once a day, leve, hunting log, and FATE when they popped while I was doing leve. It took me about a week to hit lvl 50 while playing lnc for 1-3 hours a day.

I then started to queue for LAB, did storyline roulette, AK, WP, ifrit/garuda/titan hm, hunts for about 2 days with the same amount of time spent as before. Then I added in copper HM, haukke hm, and bray hm, BCoB t1-2 as soon as I hit il65. I ran these for about two days until I hit il80. After il80 I ran ST, t4, and every other dungeon. Got my il90 relic as well.

Not once did I encounter anything negative directed at me while doing this. I found it quite easy and relaxing to be honest. I also realized I enjoy playing drg (leveled it in 1.0 and did not enjoy it, so I skipped it with my 2.0 remake). My FC member has since been expelled, as HE was actually one of the DB's the OP was talking about.

    So to my point.

Starting as any newer player would (all of my gear was dungeon drops or leve rewards pre-50), it takes about 2 weeks to get to il80~ playing 2-3 hours daily. From that point it gets much easier with il90 drops, tomes, ST/WoD. Also, the only DB's I did encounter were in 24-man content.

My WHM is only i121, but whenever I pug an experts, almost every single tank wants to speed run, even with far from optimal AoE dps and even sometimes with just a DRG and MNK/NIN as dps.
A DRG/MNK (or NIN) combo should be able to melt things with ease. If they aren't, then they either don't know how to use their AoEs efficiently or how to spread their DoTs. The fastest and smoothest Sastasha HM run I've ever had (back when it was in Expert) was with myself and a MNK as the DPS. The tank initially took one look at us and asked if we would prefer smaller pulls-- we said no, and by the end of the dungeon the tank complimented us on our DPS.

Melee DPS are quite capable of dealing with speedruns and big pulls. They just need to know how to play their class.
