DEV REQUEST:DUEL/SPAR system

Later when duel are available people will whine, why this class so OP than this class and so.
And the challenger who lose from fight might be butt-hurt and rant at the forum.

I think DEV already think about this but they not ready yet for it.

I'm OK if they make another separate server for PVP and have everything about player kill player thingy on that server, I will make another character there... But don't add duel to the current PVE server I'm to lazy to deal with it, this character is purely PVE.

Does anybody have a real reason to not introduce dueling to the game? A reason that's not as comical as the problem of balancing 1v1 combat, which almost no MMORPG has successfully done, or the fear of confrontation?

everything im about to say is opinion based, take it with a grain of salt.

Pros :
its great to have duel system, its another form of entertainment, especially with your friends.
gets rids of boredom.
its great for research ( meaning a tool for crafting theory, stats balancing, etc etc. with out actually going outside or to a dungeon )

Cons :
it opens up alot more than just a can of sardine, more like pandora's box.
possibility of harrassments, ie, name calling, exclusion ( next con sort of describes it ).
not using as intended, meaning your using duel for a different reason such as; "static looking for mnk, taking applications, MUST kill tank in 6 seconds or less"
it will beget elitism
can create conflicts and confrontation between friends.
if it was just to be applied, does it need any sort of ranking? ( meaning what will motivate people to actually use duel ), and whats the point of open pvp duel when and if 90% of the community actually defaults to disable pvp.
if this creates an instanace, that means you will not be able to que while fighting.
if this doesnt create an instance but disable selecting the DF que then that also opens for harrassments to force you locked in.
if this is open and rank ( if your DF pop ), what would you do?
if they implement a force ilvl match thats defeats one of my pros
if they implement a form of currency for winning, and rewards shop for this, it will open up for win-trading and we've seen posts arguing about this matter ( pvp and in triple triad ).

And can someone please give me a legit way that turning down a duel leads into harassment? I've seen, at worse, a player turn down a duel out front of Stromwind and get two taunt emotes, then a laugh, and that was it. Dude went back to the other dueling crew.

name calling, not everyone can be as stoic / stern like other people. Remember the game caters to a lot of casuals, and there are people out there who gets' taunted either by emote or actual shouts/words will find this as a harrassements.

The problem you've presented seems to be the "victims" and not so much the perpetrators of "harassment" . Being overly sensitive is the cause of a lot of in game grief. We communicate in game via text and not everyone's a master of their first or even only language .

I don't mind for open world PVP duel

You might end up getting /shout insult ... and there many who like PVP and will join the PVPer to insult the him for not doing Duel ... and the only reason to fix those insult that keep going on shout will be from PVPer saying "don't like it? then change server" ... do you think that nice?

cos i keep seing that answer in most forum or shout ... "you don't like it then change server" ..it's seems like in Real life get bully at school ... bully is not punish but the new kid have to change school to end up in another school who its get bully again ...

cos even if we change server ..in every server there is troll and bad community that will trash people that don't want to do what they want to do "Duel"

I support 1vs1 PVP ...i use to do that with my friend in an open world pvp"Rappelz"...But in the server i was the PVP duel was mostly at 1 popular spot where people was dueling each other. The duel request Harrasment stop when people start that specific Duel Zone spot. Im not asking for it to be a way like duty roulette and you got to wait for the queue ... but a special Zone like a city with many circle around it and in the circle you can dual each other ..and to enter it. Its the same way when you get to limsa only the loading of zone change. Would be Wolves Den new zone. Just an idea

second idea to support that would be if PVPer community decide to choose a spot in the world where most pvper meet so you would know who was to pvp and to aggree to not harrass people that dont want to pvp.and if you harrass that a GM call with chat proof woul put you in FF14 jail for few days atleast and if repeat ban for a time
