To address the elemental wheel topic posted a page ago; the removal of the wheel wasn't to "dumb it down", but to make the BLM and CNJ/WHM not be weak or OP in specific fights. If anything, having the wheel dumbs things down anyway since you can just find the weak element and spam the proper spell till the bad guys fall down.
