You'd be surprised how many WARs out dps the dpsWell, the game kind of already betrays this notion by making a WAR a tanking job. More than ANY DPS job in the game, the flavor text behind WAR talks about blood 'n guts 'n rending your enemies and whatever, but in practice, WAR's job is to hold enemies in place and keep them from beating on your buddies. A ridiculously oversized axe just compounds the silliness.

WAR should've been a DPS job from the start, given the lore of them being bloodthirsty combatants thirsting for blood, but since they're not, huge weapons just make them ridiculous. A NIN poking an enemy with his cute li'l pigstickers should not be doing twice the damage a great axe swing does...
