Quina is a Qu.
We need more races that DON'T look human.
:/ IT'S SOOOO BORING that everyone
has more of a human touch...Mithra looked more kitty cat than Miqote's do now.
Don't get me wrong, I like how Miqote look even though I'm sick of them and how Au Ra look
but I'd really want something that stands out...Miqote look like neko cosplayers anyways lol.
It's to do with armor models, the greater the variations in body size, the more work they have to do for every single piece of armor. By keeping the body shapes close the easier it is to adjust scaling on armor models to fit them. By adding beastial type races, with beastial type bodies it would mean they would have to redesign every piece to fit that, in comparison, misshapen body.
Which, of course, would cut down the number of new models we get, or slow the release of them.
The female beast like or furry race always look humanoid. It should be more like beast look just like the male ones.

I'd like something humanoid in shape, but not in appearance. Also, wings = ♥.♥
Ideas that come to mind for what I mean:I'd really like something more...feral than Miqo'te & Au Ra, but not super beastie. Like the fem Au Ra concept art was.
- Something with feathery wings, feathers on 80-90% of their skin, and faces that are dramatic and overdone in order to look "perfect"...Think Aphrodite or Adonis(?). Their emotes and such could be like actors in plays - over-acted and overly-graceful. Tall and slender like Elezen.
- Deer people like in the first post. Tiny puffy deer tails, antlers on both genders (small-medium ones on females and medium-large ones on males), feet like the caster PvP gear (with a slight - but not enough to warrant completely reworking the gear - curve backwards on the calves), and fur instead of skin. I'd play that in a heartbeat. These could be between lala and Au Ra height - petite and small, but not gnomes.
- Something snake-like. 90-100% scaley skin, snake eyes, pointed & slanted features. Anywhere from sexy-threatening to Voldemort. No tails. Very stalky/shady/always alert demeanor. Larger race, probably Highlander sized.
- Giant Roe-sized wolfy people. Scary, buff, & furry. Probably easy to accomplish, I doubt you'd need to change the models much. Big, wild hairstyles, minor snouts on the faces, fur-covered skin. Like Ronso...but wolves.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.

Well the point of a new race isn't for the majority to play as them. It's to add variety. I'm willing to bet they would be more popular than Elezen and Roegadyn.
And yes, I actually would play as one. As much as I love my adorable Roe, he's still too human (were he a Galka, I'd remain as one).
I understand its for variety. I just think its odd when people ask for beastly races in other MMO's and most of the time they are the least played race in the game. For a game like this I feel it would be the case as well. Why put all the effort into making a race a majority of your player base wouldn't even play.Well the point of a new race isn't for the majority to play as them. It's to add variety. Makes me wonder if SE thought the same way with the Au Ra. I know they said if people really wanted a beastly race they would consider it for the next race.
I guess it would be cool to see more beast like races though. I just wouldn't play one myself.
