Over the last couple weeks I've been joining T9 clears to try to help people out. These parties specifically state CLEAR and that you must know all phases or exp in the whole fight.
What I saw, however, was i130/i135weapon DPS so slow I think whacking the boss with my staff as white mage would produce higher DPS (We refer to them as Poetic Warriors or Poetic Princesses on our server lol). DPS dead to very simple mechanics. Raid wipes to meteors, thunders on parties, fire outs going fire in. Divebomb marked people tunnel visioning and not moving or moving to the wrong mark.
There's not usually (but there is sometimes) an apology from these people to at least let us know that they understand they messed up and will correct it. (I do this all the time because we're all humans and we can make mistakes.)
We are then met with repeated messups of the same mechanics they should know if they are ready to clear it... things that are as basic as phase 1 boss stuff.
People... there are learning and practice parties for this content appearing on my server a lot. And, if there is NOT learning or practice parties, you can make one during peak hours and surely people like me will join to help out.
I watched people who deserved to be in FCoB being completely denied their clear because players who need a practice party and doing their practicing in a clear party instead. We have to disband cuz it becomes impossible since there are TOO MANY players who cannot perform to clear levels.
Sure, this is great news for sell groups, but this is also the kind of stuff that'll make someone uninstall and cancel their subscription because it's simply not fun and too frustrating for players who want to progress through raid content.
I also had the same struggles as these players trying to clear my stuff. You can socialize, make friends and spend a great deal of time finding the ideal candidates to help you with your clear and that is how I got my clears. However... why must it be this difficult for people to find players to clear content with. If someone has spent the time to learn and is ready to clear, why must unqualified players continue to join his or her party ruining his/her gaming experience by denying that person their deserved clear?
I guess my experiences over the last couple weeks made me really think about this again and how awful it is. This isn't content that you can be easily carried through unless RNG doesn't choose the unskilled players for divebomb markings or elements... lol
However... I wonder if SE's game design that makes it so one person is not allowed to make a mistake or the whole raid suffers is just... bad game design? It's fun as heck for me to beat a fight that challenged me to not mess up and I play white mage so I have even more pressure not to mess up. But when you don't have enough friends to help you through something and you gotta rely on the general public... whoo boy..
