I can also see where RMTs would have so much of the gold on hand to take complete control over the market, I just haven't personally experienced it in any of the games I've played. Sure there's inflation, but there's always enough players who value their time to be so little and are willing to part with their game money for so few dollars, that's why I think it would work. Also, some games simply ban you for messing with the economy too much (WoW.. ahem, there's recourse for that kind of actions too)


I remember that people were willing to shell out for a $15 worth of game time, what would be equivalent to $100 worth of gold in the RMT route or even more.. Those are the kinds of people I'm hoping would stick it to the RMT and make them close their doors.

I think in current RMT terms, $15 will buy you about 5 million gil. I'm sure if SE introduced an item that increases an account's sub time by a month. A player will be able to get so much more than 5 million gil for it.. And from what I've seen, the prices usually increase from there. Perhaps we'll even see people selling a month of game time ($15) for 100 million gil or more..
