Definite possibility I've considered. Louisoix's statement that Bahamut "arose from the abyss of death and took wing as the Meracydians' newborn god" is just a little ambiguous; it's clear he was dead before primal Bahamut was summoned, but whether Wyrmlord Bahamut was truly resurrected as a primal or the primal Bahamut is simply a shadow of the genuine article fashioned in his image is debatable.
On the one hand we've got primals like Good King Moggle Mog XII and Shiva, clearly patterned after real historical figures but definitely not the genuine article. On the other, we've got Louisoix, who was able to transcend mortality and become a primal. Whether primal Bahamut belongs to the former or latter case I don't know; the only thing that's certain is that Bahamut was one of the seven Wyrmlords and died prior to the late Third Astral Era.
