Was about RMT. On almost every page of the thread that was the question that was brought up by players, and always the community upvoted these questions because we wanted an answer so desperately... We got zero response in regards to the number one question. Are you kidding SE?

It'd already reached the point of ridiculous, but to continue to ignore the community that makes your game possible is so disrespectful! We practically begged for some kind of answer for the next Live Letter from the Producer, and got zilch.

I'm honestly starting to think about canceling my pre-order because I'm starting to feel like this issue isn't going to be addressed by the expansion, and I can already see the RMT issue becoming twice as bad once the expansion hits, and as it stands now, it's already bad enough, so to me, that much RMT in a game is just unimaginable.

I love this game and had thought that SE was trying to turn around and improve their image, but clearly I was mistaken in that regard. I don't understand what's so hard about addressing this issue. The community has offered up plenty of solutions, and other MMORPGs have found ways to solve this issue! It's not as if this is something that is unfixable! For one, maybe start by hiring more than three bloody people to handle RMT across all worlds (I seriously feel bad for these three people by the way, they must have absolutely no life outside of constantly banning the RMT people, since they are the only ones working on this)!

I don't want to quit this MMORPG. I have been playing MMORPGs since Perfect Word (my first MMORPG that I played, as you can tell, my tastes have improved considerably lol), and FFXIV is the first MMORPG where I have actually made progress when it comes to endgame. For an MMORPG to have a grip on my imagination and subscription like that, isn't easy, and I probably won't find an MMORPG like that again, at least not for a very long time.

I just don't understand why this is still even an issue... It shouldn't be. It just shouldn't.

Your World is in the rare category then. Most players in other NA worlds receive spam at a ridiculous rate, and now we are getting friend requests and seeing spam in /shout. Also, yes, I'd cancel my pre-order because of tell spam. Especially when it's been getting progressively worse and worse and SE has completely ignored all requests for transparency when it comes to this issue. That shows me they don't care about the playerbase that exists outside of Japan and that doesn't make me feel great about supporting them.

On the other note, "Do you blist and report each one?" No offense, but you really must be clueless at just how bad it is on other Worlds. If I were to do that, that is all I would be doing, and wouldn't ever be actually playing the game. That is how bad it is.

Again, only 3 people working on this... We are getting spam out of our ears. Clearly they need to update the way they are handling this issue. Also, when a community specifically asks this question over and over in a thread that is meant for questions to be answered by the producer, and it is the number one question asked and then completely ignored... It leaves quite a foul taste.

They have always chosen what they feel like answering and it does not matter what questions are rated the hihest. The commu.ity team here just pick whatever they like, a lot of the time queations only the most hardcore of fanboi would ever care about, and pretend as if that is what the community wanted to know. It is what it is and nothing new either. Hope you get your answer asap so you don't cancel your pre-order over something like that because I am guessing you enjoy the game overall otherwise.

I doubt they have only three people on that team. I would more believe that the three people in the credits are the department heads. Also, there is no way to stop RMT without removing trading from a game. Period. FFXIV is the new trendy game, so they flock there to get as much business as possible. WoW had a similar problem during BC and Wrath but died down because the game started to suck. The only difference between FFXIV and WoW is the addons that the community made that blocked 99% of spam tells, and unfortunately blocked a large amount of legit tells.

I really feel for you, I have a number of characters, and everytime I created a new one, I would be swamped with these messages,
I think my record 'tells' recieved to date is 53 in one sitting, and I B-list them straight away as well.
I was tearing my hair out because it is an endless stream, especially if you change location, within 30 seconds of appearing in a new zone I usually get 1 or 2 tells,
So I spend 10-15 minutes B-listing these morons before I can continue onto my game, which we all pay for,
and yes, it does ruin the experience ingame, because you just feel like logging out and playing something else.
So, yes I feel for you and SE really do need to address this situation, especially, as you say, this is the No.1 Question asked.

WoW solved this issue completely with WoW tokens now though. There are ways to solve the issue.

It didn't completely solve it. There are still RMT tells in WoW. The cost of gold at a 3rd party is still cheaper then the cost of a token.

EDIT: Out of curiosity I went and checked something. WoW Gold currently averages 40 cents for 1000 gold. WoW tokens average for about 20k gold. They cost $20 from Blizzard. 20k gold from a 3rd party is $8. I can totally see people buying gold at $8 to get a token to pay for their subscription.
