Thank you. Finally the voice of reason speaks. Can q class = allowed. You no like? /Tissue like se says to us when we ask for more houses. To some extent, I see why people would be mad...but like, why would SE let people queue as classes at all for 24 man dungeons if it gimped things that badly. And in good ilvl gear, CNJ is fine.
Now, I would never do that because I'm super lazy at heart and Divine Seal + Regen lets me do chores. But for WoD content, I might roll my eyes at first, but if you do your job, hey, cool.
The guy that said "y u no job" is pretty much what people sound like in this thread is amazing that made me laugh.
I had a Co-Conjurer in WoD, I was so jelous I wished I had que as one too :3
I was /pet him the whole run, he was a PLD with Lv.50 CNJ (Lv.0 ARC)
My Party asked about kicking him, but I said lets try first and I took charge to cover for him. He did good, I felt bit bad that he didn't get any Healers' drop that run.
I think Classes weren't implanted to die.. but they did eventually..
I read some comments.. CNJ a healer/sub-tank, though it hurts.. I do tank as a healer CNJ/WHM sometimes for the giggles and fun with some friends.
I don't care if you queue as a class or a job, my only criteria for randoms is, "did we win?"
Now I just feel like doing an "all class" party in WoD to mess with people, so much righteous fury in this thread.
There is a huge difference between mishandling job/role mechanics and outright removing stats. Going into a duty as a class isn't the equivalent of playing poorly, players on classes can play perfectly well and people on jobs can play poorly. It's the equivalent of removing your body armor and leaving an empty slot because you think it's fun. There's no reason to do it and it's going to make you a target because of that.Does this mean I can call out all the healers that sit around doing nothing when they can be contributing DPS or WHMS that don't regen the main tank? Or the melee that don't do their positionals on purpose? Or the tanks that fight over aggro or don't pick up adds? Cause they are all intentionally gimping themselves and the alliance. Jobstone is worth crap if people aren't using it to the fullest.
That's not to say I wouldn't raise an eyebrow if I saw someone with a class in content.
If you do well without a job stone equipped, you can do even better with one.
If you have honestly never before been blamed for a wipe that wasn't your fault in DF, you have led a very charmed life in FFXIV. If you think you have some kind of a right to not be subjected to words from strangers on the internet that offend you, you've led a very charmed life outside of FFXIV.Again, I was aware I would be singled out. And I was fine with that, I was fine with proving my worth as long as I was given the chance, and I did prove it. I'm not complaining about anything except the blame being cast at me for wipes that were in no way my fault. Do you consider this blame to be fair? Is scapegoating acceptable behavior?
I would certainly hope not, though nothing surprises me on the forums these days.
If you know you didn't cause the wipe, why should what they say bother you enough to start a thread to complain about it?

I'm just here ROFLing at all the people who care so much that they sound almost angered and offended by what the OP did. Please, continue. I am really amused at anyone who takes WoD this seriously. Hell I cleared T9 in a class-only group, skill > all.

I actually had a group this evening do this in a WoD run. One alliance had all classes save for their SCH (which is admittedly the one case that you do need to job skills to function), but all were well geared for the run.
As soon as we started, however, people in the other alliances were freaking out at the "trolls" that had landed in our group, and outright refused to enter Angra. Despite being on the side of the class players, since by the time you start to abuse the defense and offense buffs you can cross and that every job's most basic rotation is tied to their class, my co-healer and 4 of our DPS continued to shush me since they were convinced that there was no way we could succeed with 7 people without soulstones. Literally just me, a bard, and my tank were fighting in our party. 4 others in the third alliance were sitting out as well. Basically, too few healers and DPS meant were were getting wrecked as soon as the two adds popped.
So, despite 7 players being properly geared, having plenty of cross class skills to make up the lost job skills, and clearly showing that they knew what they were doing in the first set of trash mobs, too many people were too stubborn to just go with it or eat the 15 minutes out of DF for refusing to try something new. So, 3 wipes on Angra later, and we were forced to take their demands to abandon. Half of them in my team were claiming that they were filing GM reports on the "classed" players, despite being the ones doing the actual ruining of the run!
That to me is just outrageous. It was the ugliest instance I've ever been in.

Did you read anything I said, at all?If you have honestly never before been blamed for a wipe that wasn't your fault in DF, you have led a very charmed life in FFXIV. If you think you have some kind of a right to not be subjected to words from strangers on the internet that offend you, you've led a very charmed life outside of FFXIV.
If you know you didn't cause the wipe, why should what they say bother you enough to start a thread to complain about it?
I never said that I've never wrongly been blamed for a wipe, ever. Quote me and prove that I said this if I'm wrong.
I never said that I should be exempt from criticism, in fact, I just admitted that I knew I would be criticized and it did not phase me. Quote me and prove that I said this if I'm wrong. Your assumptions are very out there, to say the least.
And I am not complaining about anything that occurred except the obvious false blame, particularly in this case because of how striking it is to blame a healer who is doing a good job healing for a dps check not even being close to being met due to dps dying to mechanics, not playing their job well, and not attacking the right things.
Sharing a story that I find amusing does not = complaining, and the one complaint I have made (the completely illogical false blame) is a completely legitimate one. And even with that, it's not that big of a deal to me. I had my laughs after the second wipe. Even if I had been kicked, they would have gone on to wipe yet again if their play did not considerably change.
Someone who was in the run and witnessed everything even posted, mentioning their observations of how poorly the dps were playing and how wrongfully I was being blamed, and yet you still use this old argument.
Do you understand now?
yo cat, pass a CNJ sista some a dat corn. we gon need it!
Funny how that works isn't it? You guys were the supposed trolls, yet only you and a few others even bothered attempting to fight. I wonder how many people on this thread would have a similar reaction? Probably many given the fuss going on already over one CNJ that caused no harm!

What is the point of this thread then? You say you're not upset, but every time someone doesn't agree with you, you just get snippy and passive-aggressive. If you're not upset then get over it and stop worrying about why some random strangers blamed you for the wipe. If you're not upset then don't waste your time posting this kind of thread to begin with. If you're not upset, then stop getting upset.
The only bad thing about you doing this is the extra work you are causing your other healer. I can see if you were doing it with a full party fc that was OK with it since they would be your team, or a single healer dungeon, but you can't always see how your actions negatively effect the party as a whole.
(let's say)
The other healer died, why? He was trying to keep others alive because your heals were not strong enough. Or maybe he was low on mp for seem reason or another. Maybe your regen could have saved a few people lives, reducing the stress and work for the other healer.
These are just hypothetical, but so many things could have been effected.
I'm fairly sure taking off your soulstone and being a class rather than a job you lose a LOT of mind.
