Tired of RMT friend requests? I have a solution that isn't /busy!

If you entered this thread, you're probably about as tired of RMT and spam as I am. Perhaps you're even disgruntled about SE's continued silence about our bot spammer problem. Unfortunately, I can't offer you sanctuary as far as bots and whispers are concerned, but I have found a glorious way to get rid of RMT friend requests, without using /busy!


Simply fill up your friend list to 200/200 with real players! No more RMT requests! Freedom! Justice! Hail Captain-Goddess Riepah! Hooray!

On that note, I'm still looking for 48 new friends on Cactuar.

Very true. The first time I had that idea, I chuckled and thought it'd be a good joke, but on second thought, I noticed that - while roundabout and a thing that "shouldn't" be necessary to be considered as a solution - it's really not a bad idea at all. For people who don't like /busy for the fact that it cripples them in terms of party invites, whispers from actual friends, trade requests etc., filling their friend list is the only actual defense against friend request spam that we, as players, can put to use until SE open their eyes and start doing something.

I've started mostly blanking the spam whispers out, but the friend requests are not all that easily ignored, so I'm personally looking forward to seeing that 200/200, myself.
It's comical and not too convenient, but it works.
