They should just announce EXPANSION 50+ new players need not apply. If you didn't want FF14 before nothing new here till 50. They might as well have made them 50 since they are gated behind 50 content. If they had any rules about race change I am surprised that isn't "Please look forward to it." /whisper after you finish all the old stuff.

You realize this is what nearly every MMO in the history of MMOs does, right? Expansion = new, higher level, more difficult content. They might redesign or adjust some lower level stuff, but generally speaking, an expansion focuses on new content, not old.

Except for, let's see.. oh yes, the 800lb Gorilla in the room! Burning Crusade, Cataclysm, Mists of Panderia.. they all included new, low-level content. That's 3 out of 5 expansions for WoW. While you could argue 'hey, they released new races in those 3 expansions!' you'd sorta be forgetting about the Au Ra. Yes, I know they're gating the new jobs but not the new race, but still.. they could have added new low-level content for the new jobs.

Ultimately, though, I don't care that they're releasing them at 30, particularly because they *didn't* give new low-level content, and grinding from 30-50 is already going to be annoying FATE+dungeon spam as it is... having to start from level 1 with no quests would be a drag.

Everything else was intended for max level audiences.

Cataclysm is really the only one that has a leg here. Much of the point of that expansion was entirely redoing the 1-58 leveling process, as it felt very weak and boring compared to the new content.

Forget to take into account that FFXIV you can have all jobs on one character, whereas WoW was one class for one character. WAnted to play one of the new classes? You made a new character. So all those quests you levelled up on your other chars are now available again on your new char playing the new class..

The remake of lvl 1-60 of Cataclysm isn't even included in the expansion, it was available to everyone.
