    Classes still exist peeps. Those are what you lvl, not jobs, until SE changes that (which they might, idk).

    If the new jobs are locked behind the requirements like the old ones, I'd be perfectly fine with it, yes. Because then we'd know you'd at least have some experience in that field.

    I agree, I think this makes the most sense and would address the only real concern with starting at 30 I have heard yet. Even if they started at level one, people would just FATE grind to 50 and still not know their class. NIN is proof of that.

    Umm that's not the point... The point is what classes are these jobs tied to (if any) since they require leveling.

    SE should have explicitly explained this as it leaves much room for interpretation, thus you get threads like this.

    This is not a typo or translation error. They have said in several interviews that they want to rework the armory system because the classes are a kind of unnecessary relic from 1.0 that carried over. Think of these as "advanced" jobs and i think you might be able to grasp what is happening better.

    EDIT: they have not revealed what, if any, requirements will be needed for accepting the Job stone. Either they are working on it still or are withholding info for future reveals so they have something to talk about to keep the players engaged.

    You seem to not be following information regarding the game too closely. Many of your questions have already been answered from Yoshi-P himself.

    I still feel like people are looking a bit too deep into it. It's a separate class/job that has its own level and you probably change into it with a weapon.

    Really, the job/classing/whatever thing is making for a lot more trouble than its worth just to keep ties to 1.0.

    That sounds perfectly reasonable. Want to pick up DRK? You need to at least have gotten 30 levels of GLD/PLD or MRD/WAR. Have they said exactly what they're gating the jobs behind yet?

    I mean, you'll still get a huge number of players who don't care, but it might cut the number a small bit.

    They explained there's no base class. They're removing the classes from the equation since they currently serve no purpose. After 30, you never play your class again except for a challenge. You start Dark Knight, Astro, and Machinist at 30 and level them from there. It's pretty self explanatory, I'm honestly not sure why people are confused. You can think of them as classes that don't turn into jobs, if you'd like.
