Wouldn't change anything in XIV. Have still to do 2.55 mainstory to enter the new zones

I just literally said I don't enjoy any of the current jobs at all. It has nothing to do with being handed things on a silver platter, I don't mind if you force me to level all other classes to 50 before I can be one of the new ones, but don't force me to do the fun part of the game (storyline) as a job I don't like. I want that part to be fun and enjoyable, not something I just want to get through so I can finally start on the job I want to be. Do you see the difference (this is not me trying to make some snide remark, I really think there is a big difference is all)? From a person that is at 2.55 and about to reach the new jobs, this doesn't affect me ( obviously). If I were starting out new, I would already have the mindset of (Leveling up to reach new content/jobs/whatever). I would know what I am getting myself into from the beginning. I am sure there's at least 1 job/class out of the starting jobs you will enjoy and level it up to finish the story. I just find it hard to imagine 1 person hating all the jobs from 2.0 thus never enjoying the game to reach the newer jobs.
I see this as "A Goal to reach to obtain these new jobs". I am a person that doesn't like to be handed anything on a silver platter. So personally I would be "okay" with this decision.

Considering lvl 41 is only half the EXP you need to get from 41 to 50, yeah it's not like they're cutting out a ton of EXP like you said, so it's moot either way. but im glad for this, lvling in XIV is drop dead boring. im one of the rare fews who liked EXP PTs though in 1.0 days over the dugneon/Fate grind it is now. :x so maybe im just weird.I love the leveling experience too, I think some of the most fun I have in game is while leveling up a new class. I would have preferred starting at level one, like you, but level 30 is a good compromise. Since each level takes more exp to gain than the last they're not cutting out nearly as much leveling time as you might at first imagine.
I'm glad they decided to have them start at 30, after leveling all current jobs to 50 I'm really tired of the incredibly boring low level dungeons where you have 2 buttons and the monsters have almost no mechanics so I prefer not going through them again.
I've done the leveling 1-50 in those zones like 9x over & more on alt's & with friend's.
If you want more of that experience, do it with the current Classes & on Alt's.
You're welcome at level 30 for the new Jobs to go & visit those regions all you like too.
NO!
Level 30 is perfect.
Certainly, they'll do something akin to WoW's Death Knight where they introduce the Jobs' abilities at slower intervals from like 30-40 or something to get you acquainted at a slower pace so you can be eased into the Job.
If you never experienced that, WoW's Death Knight started at the level cap & for the first number of levels you unlocked abilities at a slow pace, as if you were going from level 1-50.
IT'S AN EXPANSION.
Makes zero sense that people just getting into the game should have the full benefits of the expanded content.
It EXPANDS UPON prior content.

This is pretty funny, new players who come in 3.0 are stuck leveling 1-30 with terrible queues while everyone else begins immediately at level 30 with their new Jobs. Fact is the majority of people going into 3.0 have all the current DoW / DoM at 50. So we're going to be leveling the new Jobs. New 3.0 players are ultimately screwed when it comes to queues.

Low-Level Roulette is still the best way to level. This is pretty funny, new players who come in 3.0 are stuck leveling 1-30 with terrible queues while everyone else begins immediately at level 30 with their new Jobs. There will be rebalancing of lower level contents.
I'm sure they've thought of this & have a plan (e.g. GC Mercenaries).
So on & so forth.

Is semantics and bad arguments all you have to offer?
Your suggestion obviously does not give the same experience as being able to level a job from 1 to 30.
The quest to unlock Dragoon is found in Coerthas, a job that is intimately linked to Ishgard. So the relevance of your Rogue argument is zero.
All the new zones being locked behind the 2.0 MSQ is also a pitiable argument because there's no reason to have all the new zones locked either.

This is quite unfortunate, but not just because I too enjoy leveling from level 1 onward, learning how each skill works and when/where to use it in a rotation for what works for me. No, this is a shame because everyone who is going to be leveling up the new jobs will have 0 interaction with new players who may be joining after the expansion for dungeons before Haukke Manor (level 28). There's 5 other dungeons before that, all of which need to be done to progress in the story. And aside from low level roulette, we're not likely to be queing for those dungeons.
That's just a shame. I remember leveling my first few jobs while the game was still new, it wasn't hard to get into a dungeon as a dps because everyone was doing them to level up and for the story. New players just won't have that experience because all the 'Already-level-50' players won't be running the dungeons they need to catch up.
I'm a little surprised they went with level 30 and not 15. I get not starting them at level 1, but excluding them from assisting new players in dungeons is an odd decision to say the least. You have a force of people who are going to be leveling up jobs all together, yet alienate them from new players that are just starting out? Just doesn't seem right.
