    2) While VOIP is highly helpful, it's really not needed for Coil at all, provided everyone in the group is highly attentive (which is usually not the case, hence many people making it a requirement for their groups). For most stuff, macros can be used to get something across to other players much faster than just typing it out. (Besides, we're talking high-tier endgame raiding here, it's supposed to require coordination. You'll be hard-pressed to find a cutting edge raid group on any MMO that doesn't make use of voice chat.)

    So what you're saying is that there should be NO hardcore content whatsoever, or if they do they have to put up warning signs saying "HEY LOOK AT THIS HARD CONTENT DON'T COME CLOSE" at every mention of that content? I would hope that people can think enough so SE wouldn't have to resort to that to get some message across. Item level requirements for Second Coil Turns 3 and 4 are higher than any other instance in the game, that should say enough.

    The Extreme primals are a good example of the difficulty being advertised by quest and duty finder. By contrast, the quests leading into Crystal Tower and the Coils don't really give you any reason to think one would be significantly harder than the other, or anything you did up until then. The fact that people went on about how second coil was "easy" after 2.41 did not help things at all for those who didn't clear T5.

    So, you figure out that fighting Primals is going to be somewhat difficult... And then it doesn't occur to you that the raid questline featuring THE primal would maybe follow in the same vein?

    But it was easy. Just not dungeon easy where you can do it while eating and watching a movie.
    This problem only exist because the non raiding playerbase is used to dungeons/crystal tower being a snorefest. They don't prepare them for anything that require even a minimum amount of thinking. And when there is something that is somewhat difficult, there's no reason to get better because enough complaining will get it nerfed anyway.
