Why I have no interest in Coils more specifically, T9.

I'll be totally honest:
The only thing that does bother me with Coil is the enrage timers. Nothing makes me more sad when everyone in the group know the fight but can't win because of our low dps. People can stay alive, people know mechanics, but a lot of failures are due to enrage.

While I do understand your frustration, nothing is worse than at 1 or 2% hitting a hard enrage but it's something that I'm glad is there otherwise fights would be too easy.

I think I mentioned earlier there is a huge difference between being able to handle mechanics, and being able to handle them AND play your class and maintain/maximise your DPS/Healing/position as a tank, and that's why I always say it comes down to more than just 'reading up on the fight'.

The good news is, if you can handle the mechanics, the more comfortable your DPS get on the encounter, the better their DPS will become.
We always see it in our group, the first time we cleared t10 we were right on the enrage, DPS wasn't great and hovering between 350 being the lowest and 450 the highest, it was chaos.

Now we generally do 8 minute runs with at least 540+ DPS on all the DPS unless someone dies (or the bard has to manasong for any reason), of course gear has helped but even before they got their weapon the DPS was going up and up during every single fight, overall they just got a lot better, then of course there are little tips and tricks to help them out, like using cover on the monk during T13 if he gets an earthshaker so he can ignore it and keep those stacks, or the way you position nael during P3 so that the melees are always able to be on top of her not wasting any uptime and being able to push the phase quicker.

I would never ask for a nerf to coil savage or its Alex equivalent if it wasn't required to beat it for story. As far as I can tell, they are not required to go through the plot.

I just hate how coil works on a social level. I feel left behind and put in an "them" catagory by the friends and acquaintances that I met with throughout the game. Forced to do difficult and eventually forgotten content over and over with randoms.

I mean, I understand, everyone has their own efforts to put into the game...

I agree, without the enrage mechanics the fights basically become a battle of attrition. No matter how poorly your DPS are geared, how many times they die, or whether or not they know their rotation, as long as they can execute mechanics you'd be able to win eventually just by sort of randomly flailing in the boss' direction.

Yep, same with my group. Our early T10 and 11 clears barely scraped by the enrage. Our first T13 clear as a static saw us madly dps'ing the boss during the final cast and downing him a split second before the bar hit full. After 4 clears we're pushing toward killing him before the last Akh Morn and I know it's only going to get better as we practice. ^^

That's so dps have an incentive to do their jobs properly. Tanks and healers have to contribute a lot while handling mechanics, so should dps

Kind of funny...T9...was probably the hardest fight, in my opinion that I had to learn so far, right above T5. I spent one day grinding it for 9 hours straight, to no avail. The next day 5 hours straight...another day 4 hours straight...and I was 2 and 3 hours straight off and on for the previous two weeks...fighting, losing losing losing...and I won't lie, I was getting frustrated...I was getting angry, and I had started even giving up hope on the fight.

However, one night...or should I say morning, After 2 failed parties, and 3 wipes in this party, they decided to give it one last shot...and we made it through. I was even still alive throughout all of it! And I tell you what, I had never had such a rush of relief and joy! I was so happy I almost tried convincing the party to go again! (But instead they took me to peak at T10...which seems much easier) However...even before I cleared it, I had thought of making a thread...not to complain about T9's difficulty (Which I considered very challenging), but to say that despite all of my failures, I'd never want T9 gimped. (Despite the fact it already is kind of gimped with Echo buff) I still don't think it should be. It's an end game raid...And very much doable...people just need to stay focused...and especially calm in that last phase.

tl;dr Despite numerous fails and hardships myself with this fight, I hope it's never gimped.

I'm at a roadblock with coil, my FC is garbage, only like 2 people that has gotten past T9, every single PF group i join that says "farm" can't even clear it, so i just gave up on coil, not worth my time anymore :s

If you have such a low opinion of your FC, why the hell are you still in it? Try building your own party with people you've played with and know what they are doing, or suck it up and buy your clear since you aren't willing to put in the effort.
