You misunderstood. Ive suggested locking you out until after you escape to Coerthas safely, or until the end of ARR questline. That would've striked a perfect balance between lore and gameplay management.
I think it would have been more interesting if they had random walking Brass Blades and Crystal Braves roaming around Thanalan that would only attack you if you have completed patch 2.55
But if you haven’t, they would just ignore your character until you reached that point.
I think the general issue is that phasing isn't that well implemented in FFXIV as they did it in WoW. While there are no time-traveling dragons here, they could use the 'Echo' as a substitute.I think it would have been more interesting if they had random walking Brass Blades and Crystal Braves roaming around Thanalan that would only attack you if you have completed patch 2.55
But if you haven’t, they would just ignore your character until you reached that point.

If that's the story you want to tell, yes. Otherwise you only serve to undermine everything that happened beforehand.

Go around talking to NPCs.
That is all.

YES, that would be great to do. There has to be some presence of the opposition,of the stakes that were raised, otherwise it makes the incident feel shallow.I think it would have been more interesting if they had random walking Brass Blades and Crystal Braves roaming around Thanalan that would only attack you if you have completed patch 2.55
But if you haven’t, they would just ignore your character until you reached that point.

Wait, is Nanamo dead or no?After you (the player character) escaped, the Syndicate tried to cover everything up. Brass Blades and Crystal Braves have been told to apprehend all Scions on sight, but they were not told why, and all the Sultansworn have been told is that Nanamo is gravely ill and it's your fault. The guild leaders for any class you have at 50 don't believe the rumors, and the Brass Blades and Crystal Braves throughout the land are kind of reluctant to bother you as well.
Because of the unexpected loss of Teledji and the fall of Raubahn, things didn't go quite as planned and Lolorito is biding his time for something.
Edit: Nevermind I read Alexion's post.
So that's why the general people haven't been all up on us...cool.
I wonder how long they can keep it up though. It's nice to have people back you up.

Sure why not. Is there a reason everything needs to be on the ''very easy'' setting these days?
I find that not making lasting changes because ''everyone has to be able to have access to everything at all times'' to be deterimental to quality at times.
A reference to WoWs bronze dragonflight I imagine. (they can time travel)

It doesn't matter one way or the other to me because I have all of the classes unlocked. Can you imagine how unfriendly that is to newer players, though? Imagine that you've just followed the story quest through 2.55 on your first class and then want to level up one of the three combat classes that's based in Ul'Dah to obtain cross-class skills or just for fun. What if you'd just like to do some crafting? Higher end crafting can't reasonably be done without many of the cross class skills. What about gathering? Miner would be completely out of the question as well.
How about people that are in the Immortal Flames Grand Company? Should they be forced to switch to Maelstrom or Twin Adder just to be able to access things they need to progress the relic questline or obtain their Lucis tools?
You're basically taking a huge portion of the game and scrapping it for a huge portion of the playerbase at a time when there's going to be a lack of new content for several months while we wait for the expansion. Yeah, it really wouldn't be a smart idea. Would it be fun if there were some repercussions? Sure. That I can agree with. Completely locking out a city and everything that's contained in it would be pretty detrimental to a huge portion of the playerbase, though.
