It's like people are missing the point. In the case of Tataru, you have to roll two dice. Or in this case, rely on RNG.its always the same. lucky people defend rng and others say its flawed. THIS IS A GAME. so dont compare it as WORK for something. we do that daily on real life. only few players wanna do the same ingame. you cannot WORK againist an RNG mechanic. its nothing else than a slotmachine.
the main issue with RNG lies in the fact that on a reward every player should have to put in the SAME amount of EFFORT OR TIME to claim a reward. not player A getting a reward for 1 win and player B getting a reward for 500 wins. thats just silly to defend in the first place. its definitly not ok anymore after a certain point has passed.
very few players ENJOY wasting thier free time on a slot machine in real life either. its the same. if they want to prolong content put weekly or daily limits. not RNG. thats lazy.
Once for getting a card to drop in the first place, and another to get the Lightning card to drop.
I don't think anyone is missing the point. I'm pretty sure that exact quote is what sparked the last few page debate. You have to get a card and then you have to hope that card is the one you want or do it again.
You need to learn some compassion, you got lucky...well done but others have not. Your bragging that you have 75 cards and got this one in around a day will just annoy people who are not so lucky. People who have won over 500+ times against an NPC which will probably equate to over a thousand matches against her in total yet still have no card have every right to be annoyed, whether that annoyance is at their own bad luck or annoyed at people like you rubbing it in their faces how quickly you got yours.
RNG in itself is beneficial on many levels to this game but make no mistake when RNG is not on a persons side that person justifiably might be upset (even if RNG is a required part of the game and they realize that). One suggestion I heard which I did like was in reference to the relic grind a while ago which may be applicable here in that after x amount of wins if the card has not dropped then the percentage chance to drop is incrementally increased by a percent of few percent until the card drops first time, after the card drops the counter balance system resets back to normal drop rate (rinse and repeat). That way seems fair to me as an improvement to help alleviate the frustration people feel when things go against them, countering that extremely bad luck.

You have chosen to leave out what the majority of people in this thread have stated. None of us have a problem with RNG. We have a problem with RNG after a certain point with no benefit to having done it over and over and over again. And she's right, just because it has worked in your favor does not make certain aspects of it an okay system. You're also not complaining about it because it has obviously worked in your favor, yet here you are defending it and saying that I'm crying because I've had about a thousand matches with a stupid NPC and have nothing to show for it because guess what? I can buy the gold MGP packs to try for the other cards, but I constantly get duplicates and yet to have seen a Zidane or WoL after buying 120 packs. That is RNG and I have no problem with that, but your argument of saying this kind of system is okay because "oh you still get MGP" is a very weak one at that.

RNG to a certain point is still RNG. I could of bought nanamo or almost have bought cloud already, but I wasted all my mgp on gold packs. Last week alone I spent 165k MGP on Gold Packs. I had 2.8k MGP in return to show for it after I sold everything. People who have bad RNG don't have bad RNG on everything.
They've already nerfed npcs so you can win against them more often to try to help a little. They have Platinum Packs that will probably have some of these cards that are hard to get in it to help. (Platinum pack has 8 cards 4 of which are highly likely to be the 4 tournament cards Lightning/Cecil/Firion/Tidus leaving 4 other cards in those packs.)
The fact that you could even get Lightning should be enough since beforehand you could only get it once per 2 months in a broken tournament. SE is doing more then enough already
RNG is exactly that. RNG. It will inevitably favor some people (like you for example), and it will inevitably disfavor some. (Like myself and many others in this thread, and other threads if you look hard enough.)
The fact that SE nerfed an NPC, then bring on another NPC who is even worse is not doing them any favors.
The fact that you could get Lightning should be enough? Um, okay. Why put something in a game when RNG continues to rule that we're not going to get a card?
Am I the only one here talking to a wall?
