You would need the Zeta weapon to get something like a compensation. Like skipping the first steps of the new relic quest or something similar. Will SE make it worthwhile, when the expansion is out? I have spent many hours grinding my relic weapon to animus so far, and I'd be gutted if you don't get compensated for all the hours you've put in. Will they give you a headstart, even if you haven't fully upgraded your relic weapon?

But surely they understand that even the first steps takes a lot of time. Killing 900 monsters, doing 27 dungeons, 27 leves and 27 fates takes a lot of time and commitment. I don't want to feel like it has been time wasted.
Getting to Animus is very little work in the grand scheme of things. The steps to get to Novus, Nexus, then upgrade it, and then get to Zeta are probably 3/4ths of the work. If having a relic offers any reward in Heavensward (which I imagine will be pretty minor if they do add anything) you will have to complete the quest series which means owning a zeta.

Not to offend you but you have only begun. I had started my Relic way back before they increased atma drop rates, that was hell. 4 months just to get all 12 atmas, now it takes less then a week. Also for animus the books cost 1500 tomes back in the day and also fate spawn rate was far worst.
Also the Zodiac line if they do not increase drop rate by the time you get to it you will also see that this step is hell as well.
So yeah only those that have Zeta should have a head start really.
Also to add to the Zeta nothing special and so on, well it is if you actually add the correct stats for the class, some people add stats that are not beneficial at all.
