They already ban people for buying and selling gil. A RMT spam account is new and has no gil to sell or any ties to the actual gil accounts so what do you propose they do to combat this that doesn't adversely affect regular players?I would argue that you saying to people not to buy gil is even more pointless. People will in most cases take the easiest route when it is available to them, regardless of it is ethical or not. The best way to stop the gilbuying is to make examples out of people, by banning them permanently. This takes out customers from the potential pool of gilbuyers, as well as making other customers think twice about buying gil. This, yet again, falls on SE.
