The problem we had, via DF, was that the party composition was 2 Paladin, 1 WHM, 1 SCH, 1 DRG, 1 Monk & 2 Bard. We didn't really have a limit break that was applicable at the time we needed it (caster).

Still, it was interesting & I look forward to running it again with a better setup.

We were running LoTA a few weeks ago & it was going TERRIBLY, experienced players wiping all over. We then kicked a tank who was being arsey (verbally & doing silly things) & after that point it was literally like we were running lvl 5 content. No deaths, no problems.

One person in an alliance of 24 was causing enough issues to make it almost impossible to progress. Sounds unbelievable but it was true. Now I realise that in 8 man content all it takes is one person to do things wrong & the instance is wrecked. It's better if they afk!

After The Chrysallis, I fully expected the next trial to be just as bothersome to complete, but hoped it would not be.

As a tank gathering the enemies in The Steps of Faith, it feels like I can help prevent failure of a certain kind, but I can't help ensure success. I just have this narrow view of the battle, and I have to hope that the other people are where they should be at the right time. The most influence I can have is to remind people what to do, but if they fail at using the provided armaments then there's nothing I can do to salvage the situation.

The first group I played with could not come close to success despite seemingly working out the strategy and planning accordingly. After several failures, they were still leaving Vishap with 80-90% health remaining by the time the battle ended. While doing my part, my vision can't really extend to watch over all of the other players, so it's hard to see which ones are not performing correctly and pinpoint a cause.

I returned later with people I know from a linkshell, and we defeated the dragon easily enough. After reading the discussion here, it sounds like the difficulty of the battle is simple enough in theory. But it's one of those things that makes you slow down and pre-form a group since the reliability of a random impromptu DF party is low.

EDIT: New comparisons are in my first post now.
Yeah, see, now that they have similar levels of lighting, they look very similar to me. >_>

Maybe I'm just weird, but now it makes sense that I wouldn't have noticed any particular difference.

You know how things are during the 1st week of release.

Though the Trial isn't hard to beat just that the Boss HP is just crazy High.

The DragonKillers should have been the Major HP takers of the fight but so far hittin the boss with all dragonkiller and the explosives only at out around 50% of his HP leaving the remaing 50% of his HP up to the group to constantly DPS him through constant attacks, cannons, and DoTs.

I hate this trial, it keeps popping up in trial roulette and I have to keep abandoning it every time. It's faster to abandon than to suffer through another one of those dragon stomping marathons. Maybe it's time to start the fake D/C to avoid the penalty timer

They adjusted the Duty Finder algorithm. This is most likely why you keep getting Steps of Faith. Allow people to get through the Duty for Heavensward.
