What would you have done? (2.55 story related, SPOILER WARNING)

Hi there.

Well,

as most of you will know by now, the Warrior of Light escapes Ul'dah alone, with all the other Scions left behind, "sacrificing" themselves. Now, there's many complaints about how passive our characters were during those cutscenes, how cowardly we came across as and so on.

So, I am curious; what would you have done, if you had been given a choice? Would you have done what your character did, escaped alone? Would you have decided to stand and fight together? Would you have told the others to escape, holding the pursuers off by yourself?

So.... ideally I would have....

....Tossed Minfilia, the most useless lead NPC ever, to the Brass Blades and the Crystal Braves. Teleported the hell out and let the rest deal with the mess while I listen to their screams in my Linkpearl.... only the Linkpearl works when it wants to and not when you have to run across Eorzea to be told some trivial information.

Yeah OK if we can't cast without a weapon, maybe I would have had to surrender :/

I'll accept my character being apprehended at the beginning for a number of reasons, main being that I think she would initially cooperate to avoid causing a scene. But after the whole affair with Raubahn and Ilberd, I would've stood by and fought with Raubahn to defeat Ilberd and hopefully escape with him. And if he had pushed me away and made me flee with the others, then I certainly would've grabbed Yda and Papalymo and made them close the gate from our side, because it seems like it would've held them back for a bit just fine.

But that's just me. The way the whole thing played out with the MC was the worst part of the ending for me, it's just felt way too out of character.

EVEN IF for some reason I submitted to arrest by Teledi, a man who might as well tattoo EVIL GRAND VIZIER to his forehead, I would never, ever leave Raubahn to deal with that traitorous mophead alone even if he ordered me to. I'd help him easily dispatch the traitor and possibly his master and THEN flee in a far better position because even one-armed, Raubahn and the Warrior of Light are worth the entire Ul'dan army.

I'd then proceed to Gridania and Limsa and have WORDS with Senna and Merlwyb, the craven cowards who left with their tails between their legs.

would had realized the obvious set up after Nanamo died and Teledji entered the room, surrender? my ass!!!! come and get me, I've killed countless gods, you think I can't kill 5 random guards or half Ul'dah brass blades?

....but, then again, I have a brain, my toon seems to have Ralph Wiggum IQ

I can pick up a pike from one of the guards, or Raubahn's second sword he can't use anymore, or a chair, or a board with a nail in it.

And please don't say a DRG for example couldn't Jump on a random goon or a WHM couldn't cast Holy cause that's a gameplay mechanic and you know what's also a gameplay mechanic? Pulling my Longinus out of the aether like I do several times a day.

Doing that makes you look guilty though, you allow yourself to become a captive/prisoner to prove your innocence.Even if you know the person in front of you did it how would it look to the rest of the world if not only did you "kill" nanamo but also Teledji a person connected to the syndicate. It would only make it easier for them to pin the blame on the hero because then they could say he killed him to silence him.
