What would you have done? (2.55 story related, SPOILER WARNING)

Friggen Ul'dah, man.

There's something that bugs me about the entire "I'll handle this!" attitude to stories. And I prefer the Boondocks take on this kind of situation: "That's the whole point of belonging to a crew ! So you ain't never got to worry about handling sh*t like a man!" "Yeah! We don't fight fair, we believe in overwhelming force!"

So... yeah. The moment Ilberd seemed to think he was invincible, I would have just yelled "Okay, screw this! Jump him!" And just moved ahead as a large group, progressing forward while demolishing anyone stupid enough to attack us.

I actually had a huge fight with my boyfriend about the ending, I think SE is being a little bit sneaky about something...

When the Sultana "dies", she falls to the floor and her eyes are closed. However, when Raubahn killed that snarky little Lalafel fellow, his eyes were open and rolled slightly. That gave me the impression that the Sultana is not dead, simply unconscious (perhaps in a comatose even?) and that this was a kidnapping attempt, not an assassination, but it was portrayed to look like an assassination to make the Warrior of Light look guilty. Our character wasn't actually allowed to be near her when she fell to the floor, none of the other main "good guys" got to see her either. The people who confirmed her death were people who were not to be trusted. I feel like there's something really devious going on here.

My boyfriend argued that the reason why her eyes were closed was to make it less disturbing, because she was female and a pretty loved character and that they had done also closed the eyes of female characters who have died in other FF games.

But I feel like SE is being a little sneaky here. It's not like they haven't been sneaky before.

I will complain about one thing. What happened to the Sultana was traumatic, but it was hinted at so much, that when it happened, I didn't have much of a reaction to it because it really wasn't that surprising. I wish that they had been playing that someone else was going to be poisoned or that it hadn't been hinted that there would be any murder at all. I feel like if this had all been a total shock, that it would have had a greater impact, but with all the hints being dropped... it really ruined what should have been the saddest thing.

I 100% believe the Sultana is dead. If they start bringing back people left in right this games story will suck. We needed some HUGEEEE impact like this.
I hate that when they bring characters back. Am I pissed they killed Nanamo? Yes. Do I love her? Yes. Do I want her back? No.
Because we can remember who for what she has done and always miss that cute little Lala. I hate this games story but God dang this was amazing.
We need something to go "Woah..." Also Rauhbahnadada losing an arm for her? My GOODNESS. It'll be weird if she just came back out of no where but who knows?
We know nothing after from where she laid...
Do I think the Scion's are dead? No. I think Minifilia has something to do with it, when she heard Hydealan [sp]...Maybe we can FINALLY see Minifilia

Let us take a step back and think

Lalafell ruler with strongman, support of the ppl, instead of cooking up a plan to off their enemies even before 1.0, decided to sit and wait.

Horned tree hugging lady, talks to invisible voices probably on drugs 1/2 the time.

Pirate ruler seems to be the most normal one. But high chance she gonna get off too.

Ishagard? Religious hell hole. Getting ppl jumping off cliff seems like the best idea of judgment. And dragons consistently using their citizens as chew toys. Did I forgot to mention it is a religious hell hole with the ppl in power having weird fetish of riding you?

At least the Garleans are stable power hungry monsters. Who don't hide their power grabbing intentions.

Well, I was on my Paladin so...

Ignoring that I would never let Nanamo drink the wine in the first place (I found the vial after all and KNEW someone was getting poisoned in advance)...

First I'd have encouraged everyone to make a stand against the Brass Blades and the corrupt Crystal Braves. Individually they're doomed, but as a team we'd make a force to be reckoned with. I'd tank, being the warrior of light, and cut down every last one of the traitors with Y'shtola healing me and the others providing much needed damage. I'd advance with the Scions to face off against Ilberd and bring an end to his life along with the evil Lolorito.

My need for blood will not be sated until every one of those traitors lies dead and their ashes scattered to the four corners of Eorzea. No one kills Nanamo and lives.

They did have a shocking death. Moenbryda. They literally added her in (what feels like anyway) less than 5 patches ago and then they just killed her off. That really shocked me.

The reason why I really believe the Sultana may be back is because of what she said, she wanted change, big change. Is that idea just going to go to waste? No one else new about it but the Warrior of Light and it's not like anyone in Ul'dah is really gonna believe you right now. I don't think a positive change is going to come from her being dead. Nor do I believe the Warrior of Light will ever be truly able to clear their name without her denying that you had anything to do with it (unless she comes back believing that you did because your character did f*cking nothing). I think SE might have more planned for her. Though, at this point, all I can hope is that the trauma helps get the other leaders off their high-and-mighty booties and they actually help some more. Raubie needs to be freed, damnit!

I wouldn't mind if something bad had happened to Thancred. I'm not fond of the womanizer. I do however really hope that Y'shtola, Yda, and Papalymo are okay. :c Minfilia is a meh in my book right now because she hasn't really done anything in a long time but boss people around. >.>

Though, Pipin is awesome! I love his voice. I hope he joins us in Heavensward. Also seeing that gentleman (the man in yellow, I really forget his name right now) from the cutscene where you first enter the game is awesome. I really loved seeing him again, it was like seeing a long lost friend.

would had realized the obvious set up after Nanamo died and Teledji entered the room, surrender? my ass!!!! come and get me, I've killed countless gods, you think I can't kill 5 random guards or half Ul'dah brass blades?

Well for starters.

Fluidic Aura that goblet. Obvious poison is obvious. I'd have some words with Nanamo-chan and suggest she call her maid for a second. Afterwards I would have ''words'' with the maid.
Upon that lala whatshisname entering I would laugh. Then I would toss one of my 25 inventory weapons at his guards, and him.


Alternatively, since im a conjurer anyway; instead of sitting there while Nanamo-chan is dying I would use Esuna on her.


After that proceed to the banking hall and kill anyone I suspect of plotting with the lala. Obviously the crystal brave plot was obvious so those would definately die.

Why kill people? Well, you dont piss of a champion of Hydaelyn. Even the Ascians know not to do that. Because they are nice in comparison.

It could just be me, but I felt it was odd, having the cutscene of Nanamo praying and saying that she doesn't know what else to do. Then asking for a private audience with you. Why have you up in private to tell you the same thing she's going to repeat, in 5 minutes, to everyone else.
